Bergen St - New York Ave - Brooklyn Ave

Bergen Street currently has a viable, safe bike lane. I don't believe such drastic changes should be made for a small percentage of the population, or because special interest groups backed by the affluent and connected want them. This particular block will also be part of the containerization rollout, resulting in the loss of more parking spaces. DOT should not be prioritizing the needs of one demographic over another. Why not improve public transportation instead? NO to a Bike Blvd!

There currently is a very large Citibike rack along the street. What will happen when you add protective barrier? The street is already narrow. Standing vehicles need to be able to load and unload without halting cars, delivery and emergency vehicles especially if there is only one lane for vehicles. Will parking, except for loading be totally eliminated?

In favor of bike blvd but want clarity about needing to use vehicle to load and unload, taxi stop , deliveries and emergency transportation.

This is a poorly formed initiative that seeks to displace legacy home owners, institutions, and businesses. Gentrification by any other name, is still Gentrification.

It is ridiculous to have these two blocks of Bergen street designated as a truck route. Remove them to demonstrate good will toward this block that has been overburdened for a long time and then come back to us with requests for a bike boulevard.

This block is unsafe for bikes because it has trucks, buses, cars and emergency vehicles. There is too much traffic on this block to add more bikes. The bikes make it unsafe for pedestrians. We have cyclists that bike the wrong way, run red lights, zip down the street and bike on the sidewalk despite a bike lane existing. If you don't ticket the bikes, how will the pedestrians be safe? If you don't ticket the cars, how will the cyclists be safe? If you don't fine the honkers, how will the residents have peace? At the moment the city is plagued by NYPD who don't feel it's their responsibility to give tickets. That must be addressed first.

There are now TWO bus routes on this street. This block is also a truck route, a fire route and a bike route. The buses often get stuck behind vehicles that are double parked. Honking ensues. There are signs about not honking but it is not enforced. Remove the trucks and enforce the honking fines.

Cars often speed down this street. If you won't enforce the speed limit, put a speed hump.

This hydrant often has cars sitting in it that are "with" the delivery bikes. This is safety hazard and we don't understand why the NYPD can't figure out how to enforce this area.
