Illegal Parking

Dean St - Flatbush Ave - 6 Ave

This is a No Standing area. Police with fake placards and expired tags regularly park their personal vehicles here on both sides of the street. This encourages Barclays employees and other cars to park here When they are reported via 311, they close the complaints without investigating or taking action. Police placards do not permit parking in No Standing areas. This block needs sections for loading and unloading of pedestrians for Barclays events and true enforcement of parking restrictions by someone other than the NYPD since they refuse to ticket or tow themselves.

Bergen St - Carlton Ave - Vanderbilt Ave

The bike lane on Bergen between Underhill and Carlton is so full of patches and holes that it's incredibly dangerous to bike on. I often have to swerve into traffic to avoid being thrown from my bike. This is made much harder as there are often school buses, trucks, and cars double parked along this stretch of Bergen. A well-paved protected bike lane would be a huge improvement.

Bergen St - 3 Ave - Nevins St - Brooklyn

bergen is the only thoroughfare to route traffic through this part of Brooklyn to connect all these different neighborhoods. Atlantic is a nightmare, and as a cyclist who grew up in cobble hill and lives in prospect heights I can say that while I dont want to build more roads or highways, taking away more lanes of the limited traffic allowed is not the silver bullet to get commuters onto bikes. I love the bergen and dean bike lanes but we cannot completely ignore the fact that cars exist and need to go somewhere.

The Jay St bike lane disappears around Fulton and is nuts with cars/buses going everywhere -- this is a major route down to to Bergen/Dean and could be made safer

A "bike boulevard" in such a truck, bus, vehicle and pedestrian congested area is a bad idea. Move it to a less busy block that is safer - like Prospect, Park, Sterling....

This is an important feeder into the Dean-Bergen bike lane and is a total mess crossing 4th-Atlantic-Flatbush. Incredibly dangerous.

4 Ave - Pacific St - Atlantic Ave

The 4th Av bike lanes disappear on this block as you feed into maybe the most dangerous intersection in the city
