Illegal Parking
Illegal Parking
Schermerhorn St - Hoyt St - Bond St

The illegal parking on Schermhorn remains completely out of control. Every box is blocked with cop cars and MTA workers abusing placards

Efficient path from these bike lanes to the Albee Square citibike is necessary, and Bond St is a total mess of direction changes and illegal parking. Needs to be rethought as critical tributary routes to the Dean/Bergen and Schermerhorn/Lafayette bike lanes

Illegal parking on this block is crazy and blocks trafifc from being able to squiggle past

Cars are CONSTANTLY parked in the Bond St bike lane

Bond is an important feeder path from Dean-Bergen (and Schermerhorn) bike lanes to City Point/Albee Square. The constant direction changes Bond Street's bike lane (and car traffic) is disorienting to bike riders and drivers leading to all sorts of issues. This should be sorted out: make a consistent direction? Remove parking and put in a two-way bike lane?

I'm all for bike safety but the obsession on bike lanes in recent years is really nuts and short sighted in terms of impact on the area around these streets (look at Court Street). Who is actually doing the study on these plans anyway? Anyone? And as usual, this is not something the majority of local residents want if asked or given the full scope of what this means. In reality, the "bike bus" cute story is really just a tiny minor fraction of who/what uses these streets. Why is this the priority? This boulevard idea will cause major traffic nightmares for the residents and business along/near Dean/Bergen streets (again, look at Court street), not to mention will take away parking & bus service which this area needs and uses. These two streets already have bike lanes which have been taken over by ebikes, electric scooters, mopeds, running lights, speeding, going on sidewalks, going the wrong way, zero rules followed etc. At this point they are dangerous than cars. What's the answer to any of this?

I frequently use the B65 bus - It is the only bus that connects Crown Heights and downtown Recently the Omni has not been working so you might think there are no riders but it is packed with riders most of them get off at Barclays to shop. I take the bus because it links several community gardens along the Bergen St. route including the end stop with 2 community gardens. Please don't change the bus route. Bergen St/. also has a bicycle path that is used by many commuters I live between Bond and Nevins - the form does not want me to enter this

Many commercial garages, warehouses, driveways on these block. We don't need more bike lanes or obstructions. Leave it alone!!!!!!

NO! Neither of these blocks are safe or suitable for increased bike use. Many of the blocks are commercial and mixed use, it is a major route for commercial vehicles coming off of Atlantic and to avoid congestion. With the bus lanes under construction on Flatbush (also a dumb idea), there is even more traffic pushed onto the side streets in Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Clinton Hill and Fort Greene. Bike riders make up 3-5% of the commuter population, they already have taken enough of public space. These blocks already have bike lanes.

Drivers often speed down this block, it would greatly benefit from speedbumps once the bus lane has been relocated!
