There are always many delivery trucks double parked here and cars parked in the shaded off area near the pedestrian island even when there are parking spots available three feet in front of the shaded no parking area.
More EV parking is required. These stations are great but unfortunately are often occupied. EV vehicles are the future of clean transportation and unfortunately NYC is not yet ready for that transition
I don’t think this is the right neighborhood for this pilot program. UWS has a lot of families who depend on vehicles, especially for travel outside of the city. A lot of service workers also rely on driving in from underserved transit areas. Removing parking spaces from residential side streets will diminish their quality of life and cause many to leave the city.
People always riding the wrong way in the bike lane. It's unsafe for bikers and pedestrians and police never give tickets for this.
I see a whole lot of illegal parking in what is very clearly a designated left turn lane here.
There are two restaurant huts right across from each other (one from La Sirene on the south end and Black Lab Cafe on the north end. This creates a very dangerous blind spot where there are constant close calls with pedestrians and bikes. Sheds should never be allowed to be across from each other like that, something is bound to happen sooner or later.
A lot of residents have purchased cars since the pandemic. Finding parking has become harder than ever. Unfortunately Garages are unaffordable but for the wealthy. Can we have a resident permit parking system to help residents out? Maybe we can implement back-in angle parking on one of the wide streets or restore the lost parking spaces on CPW (make the CPW bike lane a parking-protected bike lane) to alleviate parking issues.
It would be nice to have bike racks (for parking bike) on this block.
Do not reduce vehicle parking! There are already fewer and fewer spots these days with the constant construction, and it is going to get worse with congestion pricing. People have legitimate reasons for having cars in the area, and the lack of available parking has reduced quality of life dramatically. Also, half the time the street cleaners don't even come, so reduce alternate side to one day a week.
Constant double parking of delivery trucks on this stretch of Columbus Ave.
