This is a big intersection with traffic coming from multiple directions. Cars coming off the transverse are often going fast. The crosswalks across CPW also cross a bike lane with bikes frequently going the wrong way.
Need a two-way bike lane on 72nd Street.
Central Park West bike lane should be two way.
The Columbus Ave bike lane should be two-way as electric bikes and scooters and even motorscooters already go both ways at top speed, endangering everyone, both other users of the bike lane and people crossing the street.
The Amsterdam Avenue bike lane should be two-way. Fast, electric delivery bikes and motor scooters already go both ways at top speed, endangering everyone. Widen the bike lane and make it two way.
Crosstown busses turning right at 86th Street endanger pedestrians crossing Broadway on the north side from East to West, as the bus driver often does not seem to see people starting to cross and just keeps turning on top of them. Suggest to have a turn signal for busses and cars turning right on Broadway, clarifying when it is the turn of the bus to turn right and when it is the turn of pedestrians to cross.
A crosstown two-way bike lane is needed at 86th Street, from Riverside Drive to East End Avenue. A good start would be a crosstown two-way bike lane from Broadway to Central Park West, for the purposes of this pilot.
There needs to be a bike lane on both the uptown and downtown sides of Broadway, from downtown to Washington Heights. For the purposes of this pilot, it should run from 8th Street down to 72nd Street.
Agree, form is bad ... Anyway....Please recognize the challenge of going to a NY only registered car permit system. I spend a little more than half my time in VT and just under 50% in my UWS apartment. I contribute to the community, economy and institutions of my UWS neighborhood. Being unable to get a parking permit because my car is registered in VT would be an incredible problem. I'd happily pay more for the permit, but should be allowed the same opportunity to park.
More space for pedestrian needed
