The form above is horrible!!!!! This comment applies to ALL of CPW, especially between 72-96 st. Get rid of the bike lines!!! There is a park right there, we need more parking spaces, and right now it is impossible to cross CPW because bikes and other motorized vehicles do not stop for red lights.
Double parking on the avenues makes no sense. The bike lanes get too much space. The parking should be reserved for trucks and drop-offs, not for regular parking. This will open up the avenues to more lanes of trafific.
Amount of parking reserved for police is ridiculous - the precinct is across the street and the entire lower half of this block is reserved for their personal car parking. concrete and wooden barriers are often left on the streets surrounding the precinct too which is the opposite of serving the community
We should eliminate free parking - it's insane not to charge for the use of this very valuable real estate. Fewer cars and more open space will make our neighborhoods more healthy, pleasant, and safe
We need more vehicle parking for residents! We need a residential parking permit system - long term/overnight parking on residential side streets should be for permit holders only (especially important since congestion pricing will lead to more traffic north of 60th Street).
East bound signal is VERY SHORT. Lots of traffic backs up on W86th towards Amsterdam avenue
The 10 second delay for the green light for cars is completely unnecessary. Pedestrians are predominantly local and know the delay is happening and therefore cross the street even when the walk sign is off. This defeats the purpose of the delayed signal and also causes unnecessary traffic issues.
Jacob's Pickle has illegally taken over the extended area outside the restaurant. Better monitoring and implementation of laws is required.
There is not nearly enough public parking on this block. For some reason nearly the entire south side of the block has no parking allowed. Please open up this whole block to valuable and badly needed public parking.
These comments about illegal police parking are frankly ridiculous at best and pure lies at worst. My wife and I have walked with our stroller without a single problem right past the precinct every single day for the last 2.5 years. The officers are always kind, the cars have never impeded our ability to walk on the sidewalk. Clearly there is a shortage of available spots for the officers and they came up with a completely reasonable solution. People need some common sense and DOT should not waste any resources harassing the NYPD for simply parking their cars in an efficient way. If anything i would suggest allowing more of this type of parking!
