There are some of us that live on the Upper West Side that need to use our cars for work as we work outside the city. With congestion pricing coming in adjacent to our neighborhood and now taking away parking spots, the city really needs to do something for the residents of the area such as permitted parking (similar to what is done in Los Angeles) where the streets and areas that offer unmetered parking are available for residents only. Or if you could provide municipal lots that offer an opportunity to park off the street for residents, that would be helpful as well.
The sidewalks around the Natural History Museum get incredibly congested on Sundays during the farmers market, making it extremely slow to walk down Columbus between 77th and 81st.
Tourist buses constantly double parked and often idling
Make these center dividers more useful.
This is a perfect place for a little sidewalk park. Also remove the bird poop that accumulates next to Barnes and nobles
Large, unsanitary dining shed that is unused/empty 95% of the time and used as free storage for a bar. Blocks visibility to garage entrance/exit from/to street. Rat infestations and trash accumulation. Please remove.
The vendors here, either an ice cream truck or a food stall depending on time of year, block the sidewalk and bike lane.
This is one of the most dangerous crossings in the neighborhood. The cars leaving the transverse have been stuck at this light and get impatient. People trying to cross from the park to the West side of CPW have a short light cycle that coincides with all west bound traffic from the transverse. Cars are honking non stop and constantly drive between and up to pedestrians in order to make the light. Many don't and just turn after the light has been red for a while.
Cars and trucks use 82nd St to cut across to the park instead of 81st. When there are double parked cars/trucks they get backed up for a long time and blare horns. This happens all day. This street should not be allowed for thru traffic except emergency vehicles.
This construction has narrowed the sidewalk drastically for months. It's very unsafe and blocks sightline to the cross traffic.
