Trucks are double parked almost all of the time, obstructing traffic and creating unsafe conditions. We need loading zones!
Please add a traffic light for cyclists coming out of the park at 85th street (there is none at this point, generating confusion and tension with other street users).
Cars are routinely double parked on the north or south side of 84th street, between Columbus ave and Central Park West. The nearby schools does a good job at keeping the curb available for drivers to pick up/ drop off kids but there seems to be more cars than the curb can possibly accommodate.
Illegal double parking constantly observed at drop off / pick up time by these schools. Drivers double parked even routinely block the CityBike station further West of the schools. Such illegal parking puts other street users (bicyclists but also other drivers) at risk as the traffic lane becomes very narrow and there is always a risk of a door getting opened and passengers storming out of their parked cars.
Chronic double parking. City needs to charge commercial vehicles for parking so that they don’t have to double park.
Despite a painted bus-only lane, there are many times it isn't in effect (weekends) and there are also many of those same times the M7 and M11 use this segment to detour from Columbus to Central Park West due to Columbus open street. This should be a bus-only lane 24/7 prioritizing transit uses over over vehicle parking.
Chronic sidewalk parking in Fire Zone by USPS and FDNY (and anyone else)
Suggest a cargo bike corral to be installed in front of the Children’s Museum to allow families on cargo bike to park. Alternatively, bike racks should be installed on the sidewalk.
West 86th street is missing a protected bike lane in both directions.
The shared bus stop / bike lane on Central Park West is a very hazardous design, which puts bus passengers at risk of collision by cyclists and cyclists at risk of collision with buses. Please resign.
