With the 59th street toll, it is likely that drivers will park in the UWS and commute down. We NEED parking permits for locals and locals only. We have good transit within the city - make commuters take trains or busses in and leave their cars at park & rides. Parking permits should be affordable with steep tickets for violators. Also regulate parking lot prices.
Jin ramen does not use their outdoor shed that blocks parking.
North east corner of 82nd and Broadway has cars illegal parked close to a hydrant and creates unsafe crossings when they try to pull in and out. This has been an issue since the pandemic when a car blocked the yellow lines being redrawn
The beacon theater must be better regulated. They take over the whole sidewalk day in and day out to set up for shows to take shows down to have people attend shows. Some of that I get, but to take up the entire sidewalk, block the bike lane and or redirect pedestrians to the other side of the street is absurd.
To add on to what everyone else said - any friend or family member i take on a walk, i always have to stop and inform them that for some RANDOM reason this corner is different than every single other in Manhattan. Just make it a normal one way pleaseeeeee
Beacon theater always has trucks illegally parked here and around the corner. They should get one designated spot and not block the bike lanes or the road in any other spot
Beacon loading/unloading often closes the entire sidewalk and directs people to go across the street. This shouldn’t be allowed.
The lights are completely off for being able to cross in this area - which makes the cars stop and speed through causing unsafe crossing. The timing of the lights all around the natural history museum need a checkup.
Shake shack takes up the whole sidewalk with their protruding indoor outdoor space and their trash. you have to start walking one by one and it’s the only area up on the UWS you have to do that
The line outside the hotdog place + the trash they leave out blocks the whole corner on any given day. Makes it unsafe to cross
