Mcguinness Boulevard - Nassau Ave - Norman Ave

Several parked cars were damaged here around Monday 8/15 by a reckless driver, likely a hit and run. Traffic violations on McGuinness happen regularly. I observe it every day as a resident who lives on McGuinness. I feel bad for my neighbors who now have to replace their cars, and mad that we as a community have waited so long for these improvements. Please reduce this busy roadway to one lane in each direction and provide other speed curtailing measures so drivers can't rip down this roadway like it's their personal playground at all hours.

Please excuse the typos on previous comment - “resist” was meant to say “redesign” and “sprout” was meant to say “block”

Please consider all of the residents in this “resists” that transportation alternatives have initiated for their own pro bike/anti car agenda in the name of safety - this will affect all residents, young, elderly, disabled, workers, businesses and families. If safety is truly the concern, adding traffic lights at both ends of the boulevard- exiting the Pulaski on to the boulevard, and entering the BQE- with more clear lanes and traffic control, will address that. Even perhaps a traffic signal in the Pulaski bride itself. Visable speed limit signs to remind drivers of the 25mph limit could also be helpful. The ideas such as of the widening the sidewalk - completely unnecessary as there is very little usage of the footpaths since there are mostly residences and not local businesses on this street, as opposed to the surrounding streets which get much more foot traffic, removing a car lane and parking would greatly affect the local residents and a larger surrounding area - more traffic - idling cars, cars looking for parking on the surrounding streets..this is a street that connects many areas Brooklyn to queens, to Manhattan, and is a necessary route as well as a coastal evacuation route and needs to have traffic flow and safety. There is a grocery store that is an essential business that serves the community on this street and need to have access to its loading bay and not sprout the rest of the traffic, as well as gas stations that need cars to be able to enter and exit.

This is just an overall comment: It's incredibly sad that there is such animus in the community as a direct result of the lack of leadership and failure of street design. I want my neighbors to be happy and I want the streets to be pedestrian and biker focused. It seems that the overall city leadership is happy to cram more cars into the city, despite the obvious and terrifying reality of Climate Change. This might be a chance for this community to be leaders - to show that the future of cities eliminate cars and prioritize AND SUBSIDIZE bike, foot, and mass transit. All the best to you all.

Mcguiness Boulevard - Nassau Ave - Brooklyn

McGuiness blvd was and always be a commercial roadway. As long as everyone understands that it is mostly trucks that move food applicances clothing furniture all around our city. We need this Strret to remain the way it is. Everyone needs to stay off their phones and bikes while crossing this street. I have lived here for 60 years and cross that street nearly everyday on my way to work and I have never gotten hit by a car or trick but I have been hit by bicycles who don’t observe the lights or directions of the street.

Bqe Wb En Mc Guinness Blvd S - Humboldt St - Bqe Wb Entrance Meeker Ave

REMOVE this ramp to BQE that branches off McGuinness BLVD. Drivers speed on McGuinness at this location to directly enter to BQE. This ramp should be removed / thus only leaving the remaining lane entrance to BQE at the intersection of Meeker and McGuinness with traffic light. Eliminate this dangerous yield for drivers entering BQE from Meeker AVE, as yield is always ignored. This ramp needs to be REMOVED asap for our entire community.

Spilled concrete creates a hazardous condition for bikers. This seem this is an issue across the city.

Mcguinness boulevard is a coastal evacuation route, and an important street for emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances to reach their destination on the neighborhood- I hope this is considered in this planning, as taking away a lane of traffic would have a very dangerous impact on the community’s safety

Nassau Ave - Mcguinness Boulevard - Mcguinness Boulevard

Please stop listening to the bike activists as they are not the only people who live here. In fact they are a small minority. Mcguiness Boulevard is an important artery for the movement of cars and trucks through the neighborhood. Bicyclists can take any other street and should stay off of Mcguiness. Use the $39 million on more important matters. Mcguiness boulevard is fine the way it is. Eliminating a lane in each direction will cause insane traffic and will push traffic onto other side streets. Leave this boulevard alone.

Provost St - Dupont St - Paidge Ave

The movie studio uses this area to park wide trucks, pushing bikers further out into this narrow street. There is not enough room for a wide truck parked, a bike and two passing tractor trailers. This is a an extreme danger. Many tractor trailers use this street.
