What I think McGuinness needs is a lot of green space. I'm not opposed to protected bike lanes, but I'd feel scared to cycle up and down McGuinness given its history. Let's narrow and remove automobile lanes and put in trees and other greenery that will deal with stormwater runoff! During storms, parts of McGuinness and intersecting streets get absolutely flooded! Everyone in the neighborhood loves greenery, and it will help us stay cool in the summer and sheltered from the rain.

It seems to me that the meetings are set-up to give people a chance to blow off steam and this agency isn't required to respond. I'd like an answer to these questions; what can your department do for us?, do you coordinate with other agencies?, how long will this process take-think of the simplest suggestions-and give us a timeline. Is any department within the NYCDOT interested in slowly with lots of notice and organization getting rid of McGuinness Blvd.? Can your agency come up with a process that will provide off-the-street parking for residents? dedicated streets for bicyclers? for public transportation? Or will we be saddled with pointless painted lines and bike barriers no one will pay any attention to? are you able to get cops to monitor traffic? speed cameras [fyi if they are on McG they are shut off]?

As a driver in Greenpoint, it is difficult to navigate because the cyclists do not follow the traffic laws of the street. If you attend a community meeting to voice your concerns as a driver, your opinions are disregarded and ignored because you have opposing views. Parking is incredibly difficult to find throughout Greenpoint and getting rid of two lanes on McGuinness will do nothing but add excessive traffic, less parking, no guarantee for biker safety, and added air pollution. When suggested about using medians as a biker pathway, the idea was disregarded by the group representative because it went against the majority and wasn't brought to DOT attention until the driver who brought up the plan suggested it to DOT. There are other ways of making McGuinness safer however, bikers should not be allowed to ride there. Leonard St. bike paths are never being utilized though cyclists claim side streets to be "so dangerous", which is false. The Polish driving community is 100% excluded from all conversation about reducing lanes of traffic because of a language barrier that is being ignored to push the cyclist agenda. Parking is already reduced because of Citibikes, film studios, private driveways, fire hydrants, and alternate side parking. Please consider the opinions of the entire Greenpoint community as opposed to solely listening to cyclists opinions. Cyclists do not care if individuals in the working class need to use their cars to go to work, are handicapped, or are elderly.

Please don't remove a lane, it would be a disaster causing idle traffic between meeker to pulaski bridge. Not calming, this would cause rage. We need more signage for all users: bikes, pedestrians, drivers alike. Speed limit signs, Education for pedestrians and cyclists who don't follow road rules. No one uses sidewalks on Mcguinness, there are no businesses. Increasing ways to slow traffic is necessary ie, speed bumps, more and longer lights, anything but removing a lane. It would be chaos. Thank you.

Removal of 1 lane of traffic on each travel side is essential to actually make McGuinness safe. This is truly the only way to improve this route and prevent more deaths.

Provost St - Huron St - Green St

Provost is a good opportunity that runs parallel to McGuinness but it's in bad shape

Lots of competing needs; parking is the lowest priority of the needs (like biking, trucks, pedestrians, etc)

Maybe do some strategic daylighting and adding loading zones additions but removing a travel lane is more important than removing parking. Parking does provide some safety and protection from traffic.

Protected lanes for biking are vital to biking on McGuinness*
