There is never enough time to make it across, and cars/trucks speed up right away when the light turns. It is very scary. Make the crossing shorter, please.
The crossing is too long, people constantly get stuck on the median, especially during school drop off and pick up It is very dangerous, and needs to be fixed by making the road bed narrower.
Road diet needed to calm traffic and provide bicycle safe infrastructure
close the on ramp to BQE
We really need a road diet on McGuinness. It saddens me how little infrastructure there is for me when I walk there.
I cannot overstate how good it would be for this road to have a traffic diet. It would be an easy win for both safety and for quality of life, and it would disincentivize drivers from using it as a BQE shortcut.
Neighborhood loading zones on Nassau avenue (both sides of McGuinness) would definitely help the businesses on this street.
This comment applies to the entire McGuinness corridor: we should definitely have a two-way parking protected bike lane on this street to connect the bike lanes on the Pulaski and K bridges! I'm in favor or removing travel lanes in each direction (a road diet) to make this possible.
This intersection should have turn-calming features or maybe a left-turn ban. Pedestrians have a short crossing signal in the afternoon, and cars making left turns from Norman onto McGuinness drive too quickly because they want to make the light.
