Bike Lane Requested
Bike Lane Requested
Humboldt St - Richardson St - Herbert St

A southbound bike lane on Humboldt would add a direct connection from McGuinness to points south

Pulaski Bridge Bike Path - Mcguinness Boulevard - Clay St

Pulaski bridge ped/bike lane is really heavily used by joggers and cyclists in the late afternoon. Gets very very busy despite unsafe access points. DOT, please do a bike and pedestrian count on the bridge and factor this in to the design of access points on either end of the bridge

Clay street underpass is hostile and dark

Mcguinness Boulevard - Clay St - Box St

Huge concrete wall of bridge could be used for a great mural. There are so many artists in Greenpoint who could be engaged to do something cool with this

Bus Shelter Needed
Bus Shelter Needed
Mcguinness Boulevard - Freeman St - Eagle St

B32 bus stop needs a bus shelter. Very exposed, loud and dangerous location for bus riders

Conflicting Turns
Conflicting Turns
Mcguinness Boulevard - Freeman St - Eagle St

B32 bus trying to merge back onto the bridge has to cross paths with aggressive cars and trucks heading to water treatment plant etc. Northbound bus riders experience a lot of delays at rush hour because of the merging conflicts. It can the B32 a half an hour to cross the bridge

Aggressive Drivers
Aggressive Drivers
Pulaski Bridge - Pulaski Bridge - Mcguinness Boulevard

Design of the approach roadway encourages drivers to use McGuinness like a highway. Cars weave and speed down the wide open ramp which lets them accumulate high speed for the length of four blocks. God be with you're anywhere near Freeman St or Green St and aren't in a car

Long Distance to Cross
Long Distance to Cross
Green St - Mcguinness Boulevard - Mcguinness Boulevard

Very dangerous crossing because of speeding drivers coming off bridge

Pulaski Bridge - Qn-kings Cnty Boundary - Mcguinness Boulevard

Highway median on bridge off-ramp creates several problems: 1) provides a highway environment for drivers speed excessively; 2) cuts off all pedestrian crossings for a 3-block stretch (Dupont, Eagle, Freeman); 3) creates many traffic conflicts between Eagle and Green; 4) allows southbound drivers to speed all the way to Green before encountering a traffic light that (might) cause them to slow down. The bridge median is the single worst aspect of this dangerous bridge that turns it into a highway catapulting cars down McGuinness at speeds over 40-50 mph during all hours outside rush hour. The median needs to be torn down. This would be a big step toward correcting the badly hostile design of this bridge.

There is no way for a pedestrian on Dupont St to cross the McGuinness highway
