Signage must be confusing because the TRUCKS ALL IGNORE IT. Need to reverse street direction on Monitor Street between Norman Ave & Nassau Ave where NO TRUCK signage begins and Trucks continue to ignore on multiple blocks as they use Monitor Street as a shortcut from Greenpoint Ave Bridge to BQE to avoid McGuiness. Calming McGuiness will only increase Truck ISSUES on Monitor which is home to an elementary school and public park & playground.

Elementary PS110 school drop off & pickup has curbside parking issues. Narrow sidewalk and TRUCKS ignoring NO TRUCK signage that begins to blocks up at Norman Ave. BIG ISSUE
SIDEWALK broken & tried to report to 311 but no address. BEEN broken FOR YEARS / at least a decade.
Local neighbors unload cars and need to temporarily double park with flashers on. TRUCKS ignoring NO TRUCK signage proceed on Monitor St and block traffic when they reach a double parked car. Street direction needs to be reversed on Monitor Street between Norman & Nassau Ave to physically prevent Trucks from ignoring traffic rules and using Monitor Street as a shortcut from Greenpoint Ave Bridge to BQE. These Trucks bypass McGuiness BLVD and use Monitor Street as a shortcut. Eliminating lanes on McGuiness / calming McGuiness BLVD will increase truck traffic on Monitor Street. ACTION should coincide with McGuinness BLVD and reverse street direction on this block where NO TRUCK signage begins for Monitor Street (home to PS110 elementary school and McGolrick Park (public park & playground)

Mural opportunity under bridge.
Vehicles speed after stop sign. Several cars have lost control turning from Nassau ave onto Monitor resulting in several totaled parked vehicles. Trucks Speed as well. Oil Trucks. Private Garbage Trucks. 16 Wheel Beverage Budweiser Trucks. ETC TRUCKS speeding.
Narrow Sidewalk outside PS110 elementary school. Not enough room for parents waiting outside to drop-off / pickup students. Several Tree Beds outside of school limit sidewalk to a very narrow walkway cutting small sidewalk in half. Sidewalk needs to be built out and extended. Perhaps if restaurants can occupy the street in front for dining, the school needs to occupy and create the parking spots around into a sidewalk for students. Not enough room. Trucks ignoring NO TRUCK signage make narrow sidewalk extremely dangerous. PRE-K students (aged 3-4 years old) walk out front door on Monitor in class size average 20 students with 1-2 teachers. Very Dangerous if a child is not listening as ROADWAY is so close & TRUCKS ignore signage & drive aggressively down Monitor.
Aggressive driver of Trucks speed past local elementary school with children as young as 3 years old. These pre-k students use sidewalks outside on Monitor Street to access school playground and garden. Trucks dangerously speed past school. BIG PROBLEM. Trucks ignore NO TRUCK signage from previous two blocks. Need to change street direction of Monitor a block up to prevent Trucks proceeding to use Monitor as a shortcut to BQE (reverse street direction on Monitor between Norman & Nassau where NO TRUCK signage is first posted)
