Mcguiness Boulevard - Mcguinness Blvd South - Brooklyn

I live on Bayard Street between McGuiness Boulevard and Graham Avenue. There was a fatal accident on the corner where a beloved teacher ws killed by a vehicle. This is a dangerous corner as it it is the entrance to the BQE. It is home to multiple accidents each year. I believe if a SPEED BUMP were to be installed on McGuiness Blvd between Newton Street and Bayard Street it would deter the speeding to beat the light before the entrance to the BQE. It is not fair that the drop down menu for this form does not include this dangerous area of McGuiness Boulevard.

Bqe Wb En Mc Guinness Blvd S - Humboldt St - Bqe Wb Entrance Meeker Ave

Eliminate this BQE ramp and only keep remaining entrance to BQE that is accessible from Meeker Ave or making a right turn at the light on McGuinness & Meeker. Vehicles speed up this current ramp, ignore yield, etc. It is a dangerous merge and should be removed.

REMOVE this ramp to BQE that branches off McGuinness BLVD. Drivers speed on McGuinness at this location to directly enter to BQE. This ramp should be removed / thus only leaving the remaining lane entrance to BQE at the intersection of Meeker and McGuinness with traffic light. Eliminate this dangerous yield for drivers entering BQE from Meeker AVE, as yield is always ignored. This ramp needs to be REMOVED asap for our entire community.

Drivers on McGuinness treat it as a highway, even though it cuts straight through our residential neighborhood. They have blatantly ignored the speed limit after it was reduced, and they often run the light here. We need to reduce the number of lanes on McGuinness to ease congestion and threats to pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers.

Nassau Ave - Mcguinness Boulevard - Newel St

This intersection often has cars speeding off of McGuinness and is very difficult to cross. There's only a pedestrian crossing on one side of the street.

I live at this corner and have always felt unsafe crossing here due to the speeding cars going onto and off of the bridge, including the ones turning from Green Street when pedestrians have the walk light. I have witnessed many accidents (pedestrians and cars) at this corner as well.

Shift the Pulaski Bridge approach via Manhattan Avenue from Eagle to Green Street and install a protected contraflow bike lane along the west side of McGuinness between Green and the foot of the bridge. This would eliminate the conflict between north and southbound cyclists at the foot of the bridge, as well as the difficult 180-degree turn northbound cyclists must make from Eagle Street.

A two-way bike lane on the west side of McGuinness would help bridge the gap between the foot of the Pulaski Bridge and the Greenpoint Avenue bike route. The current route requires a hill climb, and too often I see cyclists riding with high-speed traffic on McGuinness to reach Greenpoint -- or worse, riding against traffic on McGuinness to access the Pulaski Bridge.
