Truck Double Parked
Truck Double Parked
Mcguinness Boulevard - Calyer St - Greenpoint Ave

Trucks constantly double parked around here leading to backups, excessive honking and aggressive driving

So much noise - trucks honking, loud revving engines, motorcycles. Would like to reduce truck traffic and enforce vehicle noise laws

McGuinness Blvd is not hazardous to those that pay attention when crossing the street and are mindful of their surroundings. Lives are not in danger if proper traffic laws are being followed by cyclists. It's important to leave two lanes of traffic on each side of McGuinness to prevent excessive traffic for drivers coming from the Pulaski Bridge and are going to the BQE. There are other beneficial ways that can ensure everyone's safety without these ridiculous changes being suggested. -Add solar-powered lane lights for drivers to see in case of bad weather. This will prevent cars from veering to another lane. -Ensure that the traffic lights are being used 24/7 to capture speeding -Promote Leonard Street as an alternative bike route for those that are "terrified" of McGuinness since it is rarely used -Cyclists register their mopeds and bicycles since they are means of transportation. IF cyclists have registered bicycles, they will be forced to follow traffic laws and learn to share the road instead of stating that Greenpoint "just get rid of cars". There are better ways to use the money to benefit the good of the community. There are plenty of times when the boulevard barely has any traffic and crossing the street is neither terrifying nor dangerous.

Cars fly through this intersection. Need traffic calming

Green St - Manhattan Ave - Mcguinness Boulevard

Heavy truck traffic utilizing Green St as a connector to McGuinness/Pulaski. Green St has a posted "No Thru Truck Traffic" sign at Green/Manhattan Ave that is ignored.

Long Distance to Cross
Long Distance to Cross
Greenpoint Ave - Leonard St - Eckford St

The stretch between Manhattan and McGuinness is very long and could benefit from an additional crosswalk(s) at either Eckford or Leonard Street, as pedestrians crossing Greenpoint to get to Leonard/Eckford often end up jaywalking rather then walking all the way to the main corners and back. A crosswalk with a traffic light would also benefit bicyclists, especially those getting a Citibike at Greenpoint/Manhattan to travel south on Leonard.

Spilled concrete creates a hazardous condition for bikers. This seem this is an issue across the city.

Please put a protected bike lane on McGuinness. It's terrifying to bike down, I'm scared to do it, especially after that teacher was killed earlier this year.
