Death sentence to ride on Provost. No bike connections East of McGuinness Blvd, cyclists coming from the Southeast to the Pulaski Bridge are left with no on-street options. Too many trucks along the route.**
add daylighting at intersections for better visibility + add raised crosswalks + expand median + add bioswales
Keeping trucks confined to where they should be would create more pleasant conditions.*
when i really need to use McGuinness, it's if I have a destination east of McGuinness where there are few alternative routes. The stretch along McGuinness north of Greenpoint Ave is particularly bad due to parking.
Investigate a two-way bike line on one side of the street. Drivers respect two-way PBLs better
consider adding a PBL along the existing center median. two way bike lane on one side.
lane reduction to make safer + expand median for more trees
add a PBL- make it grade separated or protect with planters
very difficult to cross
Why are there so many gas stations on McGuinness? What tools do we have to regulate land use or mitigate the impacts?
