There's no reason for McGuinness Blvd to be used for cycling. Cyclists in this neighborhood are exceptionally rude, careless, and consistently put drivers' lives at risk. How is it that once cyclists began to use the Blvd, all of a sudden there are issues? How do people not know how to cross the street when there are designated crossing times at each corner? If people knew how to cross the street and paid attention to their surroundings, you wouldn't have issues. Leonard St has a bike path that is never used, let them use that and leave McGuinness alone. McGuinness needs all 4 lanes or else itll reek havoc on the neighborhood. There is constant construction going on which already blocks lanes of traffic causing a buildup. Cyclists weave in and out of traffic without signaling, using lights etc but are quick to place blame on drivers. There is already too much traffic coming into Greenpoint from all bridges, we don't need any more so somebody can take a stroll down the block on their bike.
Cycling down Morgan is currently very dangerous to the point that most people take long circuitous routes avoiding it. A protected bike corridor would dramatically improve the safety of travel between Greenpoint/Bushwick
Sidewalk is fully blocked by construction project and cars that are parked alongside it.
Sidewalk is perpetually blocked with parked vehicles
Really need a bike lane here - tons of people use Greenpoint ave as a bike lane and I’ve seen people turn onto McGuinness on their bike which is crazy dangerous. A two way lane connecting to the two way lane on Pulaski bridge would be game changing for the neighborhood.
Multiple trucks early in the morning using Green street.
Please address heavy trucks using Green St. Green street is NOT a truck route. Thank you.
Trucks using Green St as a truck route. It is not a truck route. Calls and complaints to 311 regarding truck route complaints seem to do nothing. Response is usually 'Offending truck is gone by the time officers responded.'
Green Street is not a truck route but is used as one all day. Local police seem powerless to enforce this.
