Crossing Flatbush while riding on Bedford is currently a death wish. There must be some way to make the crossing safer.

The feedback zone borders (black line) extend beyond the project focus area (CB 14 and CB 17) to encourage respondents to suggest routes that connect to adjacent neighborhoods and fill gaps in the area-wide bicycle network.

Foster Ave between Coney Island Ave and Flatbush would serve well with a dedicated bike lane. The street is plenty wide, and the area lacks a dedicated east-west bike lane. It would connect to the Bedford Ave bike lane, as well as the Rugby and Argyle Rd bike lanes.
The bike lanes on Empire Blvd. end at Bedford. Getting from the Bedford/Empire intersection to the entrance to Prospect Park just up on Flatbush is very difficult, especially crossing Flatbush.
It is very common to go South on Flatbush with the intention of getting over to Bedford to continue South. Today you have to navigate a difficult section of Flatbush to get to Maple which leads to Bedford. From Maple onward it's pretty good. Can we better connect the end of the bike lane on Flatbush to Maple?
Farragut Rd, east west connection.
Foster Ave, east/west connection
Connect Snyder Ave to Ave A to Rockaway Pkwy and further east.
Beverley Ave connecting Schenectady Ave to Ave B and up to Hegeman Ave. We need more east/west connections in this neighborhood because the grid really cuts things off.
Connect the bicycle lane on Paedergat Ave to the network on Avenue I so that people have a continuous network. The area around Flatlands Ave, Paerdegat Avenue, and Ralph Avenue is very difficult to traverse as a cyclist.
Add a protected bike lane to connect Flatbush Ave to Parkside Avenue. People need safe cycling routes around Prospect Park, which isn't safe or open at night when many people are traveling by bicycle.
