Kings Hwy should have a protected lane like Queens Boulevard for the whole route
There should be protected routes that connect people to the subway like the bus does
Make all of the shared and "conventional" bike lanes protected, including Avenue I. Protected lanes should be the new convention
More direct routes to Prospect Park would be great. And the more protected and dedicated bike routes the better. Thank you.
Please protect the Bedford Avenue bike lane! It's very hard to get more than a couple blocks without running into a double parked car idling or unloading, which makes it very dangerous for bicyclists!
Flatbush/Empire, Flatbush/Parkside Avenues, Ocean and Parkside Avenues, Winthrop, and Flatbush Avenues are extremely dangerous to pedestrians and cyclists. We need NOT only protected bike lanes but also traffic signals and REd light cameras at all of these intersections. Pedestrians and cyclists are taking their lives into their hands every time we are crossing these streets. Evey efforts should be made to calm down these streets. They are dangerous to all. I've alerted the previous administrations of the dangers many times over the eight years, and nothing was done. Traffic enforcement is also lacking in these areas. Cars are either double parked or they DO NOT observe the NO Parking rules. Serious redesign of these streets is a must!
this section of parkside ave is terrible to bike. the road is always cramped with cars and while the sidewalk is wide enough to ride on and give space to pedestrians, the surface is extremely uneven and cracked. a bike lane could probably be added to the outer part of the sidewalk like on van brunt/columbia street
Ocean Avenue should switch to a park protected bike lane, since there are double parked cars and trucks on every block, and having to constantly merge into fast moving traffic is dangerous. The park protected bike lane on parkside has been great, I rarely see a car parked there.
Flatbush Ave would be great with a bike lane. It's a huge street, connected to many different neighborhoods. Since cars zoom by, though, it might only be safe enough with a park protected bike lane, like on 9th street or 4th ave.
Crossing Flatbush while riding on Bedford is currently a death wish. There must be some way to make the crossing safer.
