There are not enough empty docks to park in the Redhook neighborhood. There is sufficient space here to double the capacity. Add 20+ parking docks, but don't fill them with bikes. Too many unused bikes in Redhook!!!
Densely populated area and often few bikes
Now that the new high-rise on the NE corner of 80th St & 2nd Ave is in the process of removing its equipment and scaffolding from that intersection, I hope the Citibike station that was moved from 80th & 2nd to 81st & 2nd will be put back at its original location (SW corner of 80th & 2nd). It was moved a couple years ago to accommodate that construction. Unlike its current location on the W side of 2nd Avenue & 81st Street, which is (dangerously) *across* 2nd Ave from the 2nd Ave bicycle lane, the original location, on the E side of 2nd Ave and 80th St, was perfectly situated on the same side of 2nd Avenue as the 2nd Ave bike lane. Also, in its current, temporary location at 81st and 2nd it's preventing at least 2 restaurants from using any street space. There are no restaurants near the original location on the E side of 2nd & 80th.

So many people ride Citibike to hang out/workout/play at the East River Park [Track]. Would love to see a bike dock right outside the track!!
The capacity at this station should be doubled. There is sufficient space for an additional 27 docks. Ideally, more stations should be added along Prospect Park SW at 16th Street and another near Vanderbilt.

A dock used to be here but got moved to Pearl Street (a much busier street that is further away from the bike lane. Please move it back here once the park is complete. Thanks!
The Cherry St dock lacks enough capacity. This is next to public and tall private housing developments and the density is quite high here. The docks empty out early in the morning and fill up early in the afternoon. This is an easy win because the site I'm proposing is already city park property so no permission needs to be obtained and no parking spaces need to be eliminated.
