With Empire Store bldg fully opened and the completion of BB Park and new residential buildings this area has boomed. Little transit access but big bike support.
Another vote to add a docking station for this busy block: there are two entrances to Central Park (btw 85th and 86th, as well as btw 86th and 87th), as well as three subway entrances (86th, 87th and 88th). The current dock on CPW/85th is regularly empty in the mornings -- and full at night so you can't return the bike.
Very popular destination park, several local businesses in 1-block radius.
Useful to have near the LIRR train station
Could use bike share capacity here to reduce the load on nearby stations.
This area needs way more bike docks. Not necessarily more bikes. There have been days I have been late to work because there was nowhere to dock my bike because all of the docks were full. Many others were in the same predicament and we would just drive around and around or have to stand there waiting wishing and hoping for someone to take a bike so we could dock out bikes and get to work. And then after work often times there aren’t anymore bikes left because everyone took them all. There needs to be over quadruple the amount of bikes and docks in this area.
There's a bike share stack already there. But the demand far outstrips the capacity causing this Citi Bike Dock to often be completely empty. Please add additional capacity to keep up with the demand so that those of us that pay the annual fee are able to use the citi bike as much as possible and aren't often left staring at an empty dock. CitiBike is a huge success! Let's quickly build on it.
Move 11th street stations to bike lake on 13th and second + 12th and 1st. It is always maddening to have these so close to the network but just far enough away. Additional headache trying to cross avenue traffic. By alternating 12th and 13th in the EV it gives reasonable access from different directions for east/west travel
Definitely need one here.
The area around this pin has a lot of commercial attractions: a drug store, a major grocery store, a bank ATM, a gym and several other shops. Right now the closest docks are across Atlantic Ave, requiring people who intend to continue south on Court to make a long crossing only to double back. A dock at this pin would help people travel from these destinations more easily.
