Greenways provide safe and accessible corridors for transportation and active recreation through parks and on streets. NYC DOT is responsible for the planning, design and implementation of greenways on city streets.

NYC DOT is proposing traffic safety improvements near schools on Bruckner Boulevard between Lincoln Avenue and Alexander Avenue, and on East 133rd Street at Cypress Place in the Bronx. This project will include protected bike lanes that will constitute part of the Harlem River Greenway that will ultimately link to the Randall's Island Connector.

NYC DOT is proposing traffic safety improvements near schools on Bruckner Boulevard between Lincoln Avenue and Alexander Avenue, and on East 133rd Street at Cypress Place in the Bronx. This project will include protected bike lanes that will constitute part of the Harlem River Greenway that will ultimately link to the Randall's Island Connector. The proposal also includes additional safety measures such as new crosswalks, pedestrian islands, curb extensions, exclusive pedestrian crossing times, and the conversion of Willis Avenue to one-way southbound between Bruckner Boulevard and East 132nd Street. These treatments aim to calm traffic, slow vehicular turns, shorten pedestrian crossings, and improve connections to the Willis Avenue Bridge.
