Project Overview

Brookville Boulevard Project Limits

The New York City Department of Transportation is undertaking ambitious and necessary measures to help alleviate chronic flooding along Brookville Boulevard, aka “Snake Road.” This study will advance a roadway transformation project that increases resilience to chronic flooding, improves transportation safety, and enhances wetland and habitat ecology in an environmentally sensitive area.

Evaluation of implementation considerations and feedback from the community will be incorporated.

The study is the initial input to request funding for capital improvements. The study could result in recommendations for NYC Department of Transportation and NYC Parks that include both short-term and long-term capital improvements to flooding, safety, and accessibility. The study will be completed by December 2026.
