Wide sidewalks
Spacious intersection.
This area of Blissville which is part of Long Island City is occupied by 3 shelters, small businesses, Silvercup Studios which is expanding its facilities, restaurants, and approximately 500 individuals. The closest train is a mile away and the buses are not reliable. Unlike our neighbors, we have no basic amenities, the Citibike program would give families the boost we need to be respected as a community that does exist and has been coping with adversity for so long. Please place Citibikes to this underserved neighborhood.
Great place for bikes for locals who want to walk from the blocks to the east. Also if one can be put up in highland park.
Would be perfect place in the smal park. Bike lanes all around already.
On bike route on 50th Ave, near many apartment buildings
Wide sidewalk, and a bit past the western edge of the Saturday Farmers' Market. (On 43 St. N of Skillman Ave. is good too.)
There are a lot of residents in the area who would use the bikes here. Will probably need between 30-40 bikes since there are several families in the area. Thanks for taking suggestions.
Basically anywhere on a thru road. Greenpoint Ave, Flushing Ave, Queens Blvd, 47th Ave, Grand, Fresh Pond, Maspeth Ave, Eilot, Metropolitan, Maurice, Rust/56th, 69th Street, 58th Street. At the foot of every bridge, at the every edge of the zone. Also anywhere that bridges the gap to key transit and gives residents or visitors route options that are not currently serviced by buses, or gets them to a better train line or bus line than the ones it currently leads to. I see fewer locations identified in Maspeth, but that may be because it's such a transit desert that people are unfamiliar with destinations there, and locals have long felt compelled toward car ownership and so don't participate in this process and prioritize parking over bike access because they think they HAVE to drive. This will provide them an alternative that could eventually lead to less of a dependence on that mode of transportation, and bring revenue to local businesses with people who previously not interested in the transit slog.
