Many Multi Family Buildings on this block - and people who leave their bikes tied to existing parking makes it difficult to find a place to lock my bike up
Suggest a Secure Bike Parking Location
This feedback map is for Secure Bike Parking, a new citywide program. NYC DOT would like to know how this program can best serve your bike parking needs. Please tell us what type of bicycle you would like to store (standard, e-bike, cargo, adaptive, etc.) and the length of time (long-term, short-term, overnight, weekends, etc.) at each suggested location. You may also indicate preferred amenities such as e-bike battery charging, tire pumps, and bike repair stations.
To add a suggestion, please select the most appropriate bike icon in the “select comment type” dropdown. Next select a submission type (map preferred) and place as close to an intersection or location of interest as possible. If there is an existing marker/pin at your proposed location, please add another marker/pin. If you're having trouble with adding your comments, please review "Feedback Map Instructions" or you can email your suggestions to NYC SecureBikeParking@dot.nyc.gov.

This triangle of land has a few rarely used park benches on it and would be a great central location for businesses along Washington Ave / residents of Prospect Heights!
on bus line
This building is home to 100s of people and they advertised a bike room when I moved in, but it is extremely, hopelessly small. They also have a current ban on e-bikes when they have a garage full of cars, many of which have batteries in them. I probably wouldn't have bought had I known that before I signed on the dotted line. So I hope you can bring us some bike parking here.
wide sidewalks, close to schools & the hospital. The citibike dock in this area is very heavily used by both. It is very common that there are no citibikes left to ride. Allowing people to securely store their personal bikes will reduce the burden on the citibike system.
it would be great to repurpose the abandoned Henry Hudson Parkway exit 12N into a hub for bikes.
it should be for residents only - every time a bike rack goes up in my neighborhood delivery people overwhelm because they park and take the train home leaving NO space for residents
A lot of the buildings here are walkup tenement style apartments that don't have dedicated bike storage. The apartments tend to be small and cramped meaning finding space in the apartment is difficult and even if you find space you have to carry your bike up and down the stairs (up to five flights!). Bike storage here would encourage bike ownership in the area by reducing the burden of ownership. From 10th ave going West you are also a decent walk from the nearest subway entrance, so having a bike is a good transportation alternative. The bike lane infrastructure in the area is good (10th, 9th, 8th, West Side riverfront). During rush hour the buses tend to get stuck in gridlock but the bus lanes are moving! I think this community would bike more if they just had a secure, covered place to keep them.
It would be nice to be able to keep bikes in or near the bike paths here.
Lots of bike traffic near here, but putting the storage on Bennett instead of a major road would prevent people from having to step into traffic to retrieve bikes.
