Lots of families along this corridor (6th Ave from Prospect Ave to 9th St) who need to lock their cargo bikes outside on the sidewalk. Secure biking parking here would free up sidewalk space and allow more secure parking for these families.
Suggest a Secure Bike Parking Location
This feedback map is for Secure Bike Parking, a new citywide program. NYC DOT would like to know how this program can best serve your bike parking needs. Please tell us what type of bicycle you would like to store (standard, e-bike, cargo, adaptive, etc.) and the length of time (long-term, short-term, overnight, weekends, etc.) at each suggested location. You may also indicate preferred amenities such as e-bike battery charging, tire pumps, and bike repair stations.
To add a suggestion, please select the most appropriate bike icon in the “select comment type” dropdown. Next select a submission type (map preferred) and place as close to an intersection or location of interest as possible. If there is an existing marker/pin at your proposed location, please add another marker/pin. If you're having trouble with adding your comments, please review "Feedback Map Instructions" or you can email your suggestions to NYC SecureBikeParking@dot.nyc.gov.

There are not bike racks in this area and with the proximity to the park, bike paths and the east river park this makes sense
This is right outside the elevator to the 181st A train and would be convenient for many in the neighborhood.

As a father of 2 children in a 4th floor walkup, being able to buy a cargo bike and park it close would be life changing, allowing to bring them to school, park and other location without requiring a car.
Union square would be a perfect spot for short term bike parking for commuters as a lot of offices in the area don't have bike parking
this area is a major thoroughfare for deliveristas, as well as families... nearby schools, cafes/restuarants, close to the park, and most importantly residential homes
34st is a transport hub as well as the center of multiple bike lanes. There are constantly bikes locked to railings which block sidewalks that are already narrow
