Short term bike parking at popular park entrance
Suggest a Secure Bike Parking Location
This feedback map is for Secure Bike Parking, a new citywide program. NYC DOT would like to know how this program can best serve your bike parking needs. Please tell us what type of bicycle you would like to store (standard, e-bike, cargo, adaptive, etc.) and the length of time (long-term, short-term, overnight, weekends, etc.) at each suggested location. You may also indicate preferred amenities such as e-bike battery charging, tire pumps, and bike repair stations.
To add a suggestion, please select the most appropriate bike icon in the “select comment type” dropdown. Next select a submission type (map preferred) and place as close to an intersection or location of interest as possible. If there is an existing marker/pin at your proposed location, please add another marker/pin. If you're having trouble with adding your comments, please review "Feedback Map Instructions" or you can email your suggestions to NYC SecureBikeParking@dot.nyc.gov.
Short term bike parking at popular park entrance
This is a commuter bike heavy neighborhood. Placing a bike storage locker near the bike path that leads across the bridge as well as down the hill towards the Hudson River Fort Washington Park path would be convenient for the neighborhood.
There's a bike parking corral in the park/courtyard here which is typically full and so bikes get locked to street signs/scaffolding. I typically see 2 cargo bikes and the remaining ones are regular bikes.
Bike storage along with other traffic calming measures (rocks, speed humps, chicanes, etc) would be very welcome at this strange intersection that cars and long trucks love to barrel through before dangerously turning the corner. There's also a lot of dead space often used by people to double park where the bike storage could go, and it's near a lot of avenues/thoroughfares commonly used by folks going through Flatbush or Bedford!
4th Ave / 9th St station would be a great place for long term bike parking a short ride from Prospect Park and the Gowanus Canal
Hi! I'd love to suggest a Category 3 bike parking structure around Rosemary's Playground/ I think the ideal location would be within the wide brick sidewalk under the elevated rail and adjacent to the fence, leaving enough room for walking/wheelchairs, and perhaps permitting access/bike parking from both sides. Thank you for receiving this feedback. This would be amazing and would save my bike from so much rust and inspire me to ride more as well, especially if I could start the day with a little walk to the park! :) -Ella (in Ridgewood)
Right by Calhoun school, tons of parents bring their kids to school by ebike and many people on the block own bikes and ebikes
This would be a nice spot for a lot of Greenpointers who are a bit further away from the subway
Please put a bike storage unit here
72nd Street is a destination for so many different types of trips. You have Beacon Theater nearby, multiple grocery stores including Trader Joe's and Fairway, and restaurants and bars all along Broadway and 72nd Street. Especially with the installation of the 72nd Street bike lane coming in, demand for bike parking will skyrocket here.
