Stuyvesant Ave - Madison St - Putnam Ave

Stuyvesant Ave is currently a very wide, two lane one-way street with parking on both sides of the street. It is also a popular cycling route and in a "bike lane" desert. It is a prime location both for more bike storage options and for a dedicated PROTECTED bike lane. Stuyvesant Ave is currently oversized for its role as a residential avenue (most commercial store fronts are a block away on Malcom X Blvd) and so it would be a perfect candidate for a dedicated bike route and more bike storage options, ideally a two-way bike route, which would provide residents with connections to both the A and J subway lines.

The pictured area in front of "Zen Animals" now hosts a citi bike rack, amazing! However the citi bike rack is very often empty by 11am demonstrating an excess of demand in this neighborhood for even more bike infrastructure. We would love to see an increase in citi bike capacity, bike storage options, and protected bike lanes. "Would I feel comfortable letting my 10 year old bike here?" is a question I want to be able to say YES to everywhere in NYC one day.

Hancock St - Malcolm X Boulevard - Patchen Ave

Where street view shows an empty lot is now a building, multiple bikes are stored outside this building/inside the hallway of this building via adhoc arrangement. Even a simple bike rack would be a wonderful affordance. All of the nearest citi-bike racks are often empty of bikes by 11am, showing an excess of demand by local bike-commuters.

Trader Joe's gets an incredible amount of bike traffic, there's constant pallet movement there, endangering bikes, and the one bike rack and two poles that there are to lock up on are often full.
