I imagine many commenters have singled out the absurd convergence of at least 5 lanes at this intersection. Might I also point out that the noise from frustrated drivers leaning on their horns is a nightmare for those who live at this point juncture and should be considered a health hazard. If the DOT would at least put a TRAFFIC AGENT!!!! there during a.m. and p.m. rush hours, this might make an improvement.

Van Brunt St - Visitation Pl - Pioneer St

This is a marked cycling route yet there are so many aggressive trucks. Trucks regularly speed and pass aggressively not leaving adequate room. Why is such a small neighborhood street that is a marked bicycle route allowing so many aggressive trucks? Why won't the NYPD enforce any traffic laws on van brunt?

there has to be a crosswalk here and the stop sign has to be returned. it was apparently only up by the construction company to keep them safe. the whole neighborhood uses this dog park and i personally almost got hit by a speeding car last week.

This area is unsafe and only getting worse. There needs to be fines for honking, there needs to be crossing guard streamlining the flow of traffic and keeping pedestrians safe. For one weekend, there were 6 cops standing at the corner just witnessing the madness without any direction to help handle the situation. Let's get to work on what can be some simple first steps before more people die on Atlantic Ave.

Atlantic Ave - Clinton St - Brooklyn

I personally almost got hit by a large garbage truck at the corner of Atlantic and Clinton St. The Truck was going north on Clinton and I was crossing Atlantic from the northwest to southwest corner. I had a green light that started counting down to red as I was crossing, so I presume the truck had an orange light. The truck started speeding up to make the turn and probably didn't see me. This was in the evening hours so maybe the visibility was bad. That said, I cross this intersection regularly as I live a block away on Pacific and Clinton and regularly see all types of vehicles going up Clinton trying to quickly make a turn east or west bound on Atlantic before the light changes and given how many people cross this intersection, including kids on scooters, bikes, etc who are low to the ground, it's very scary.

Over size trucks are often parked along Columbia esplanade - idling for long periods of time. This is very close to the school and green spaces, where air quality needs to be protected. The trucks are often speeding and or blocking access around the school crossings and access

Hicks St - Atlantic Ave - Pacific St

Hicks and Atlantic Intersection is dangerous for pedestrians/cyclists. Cars and Trucks constantly block the intersection, and run red lights. Ambulances crawl on Hicks to reach NYU Langone. There is zero enforcement by NYPD. ZERO. Occasionally NYPD Traffic is on scene but never tickets offenders. Turning semi-trucks routinely get stuck. This entrance to the BQE should be closed.
