At the intersection of St John’s Place and New York Ave, road surface conditions are very bad. Trucks and vehicles often speed to make the traffic light, causing the adjacent buildings to vibrate and leading to dangerous situations with pedestrians and cyclists.

16 and 18 wheelers get stuck for 30 mins to an hour trying to take a right turn from beadel st to Kingsland Ave often sideswiping cars and are stuck at the mercy of kind neighbors that have to play traffic guard and assistant to get truck unstuck and complete the turn this happens 1-2 times a week on this intersection of beadel st and Kingsland Ave. Put sign no semi trucks down this area get it into truck GPS too

Large trucks and semitrail type trucks frequently blast their air horns when they are stuck in traffic on Atlantic Ave. Isn't it illegal for them to blow their horn on city streets? Neighbors on Atlantic are frequently woken up by these horns, often as early as 5:30 AM.

Trucks frequently speed on Atlantic Ave from the BQE entrance to Court st. It is dangerous and the downshifting can also be quite noisy for residents

Often as I am walking my dog and grandchildren, we have to back away from the curb in order to let a turning truck turn cut this corner, since Bergen Street is not very wide. It's especially upsetting that bikes should have to move onto the sidewalks as well to avoid turning trucks. Also, the noise they make barreling down our street between 5th and 4th Ave rattles the house and seems quite unnecessary given that the wider, and commercial, Atlantic Ave runs parallel only a two blocks blocks away. Not to mention that the narrowness of Bergen St makes it impossible for these trucks to pass local construction vans or other double parked delivery cars which results in a lot of idling and honking.

This narrow roadway has restaurant sheds and parking on both sides of the street, an MTA bus stop, and is the central artery for ride share vehicles dropping off at Empire Stores/DUMBO house, service trucks, school buses from Dock Street, and passenger vehicles exiting DUMBO.

This street is filled with large potholes. DOT should make the entire streetscape cohesive. As it stands, some streets are designated with nice sidewalks and belgian blocks, meaning some are passable and others are not for pedestrians and drivers. Drivers also change their speeds depending on the tarmac as do pedestrians: I have to change my approach to every block depending on what has been restored and what has been left to sinkholes and broken sidewalks. The selection of what gets restored and what doesn't has left us with a mess.

Trucks barreling down the BQE and/or entering into Dumbo shake our 7 story brick building (b. 1889). The vibrations are equivalent to mini earthquakes.
