Observed Pedestrian and Truck Conflict
Observed Pedestrian and Truck Conflict
Atlantic Ave - Hicks St - Brooklyn

Large Trucks seeking to access the Queens-bound BQE create significant congestion on Atlantic Avenue. This leads to trucks and cars frequently speeding through lights and blocking the intersection. Both of these create significant pedestrian safety hazards to people attempting to cross the street, who are either at risk of being hit by a speeding truck/car, have an obstructed view of a pedestrian crossing signal, or have to walk blindly into oncoming traffic to go around cars/trucks parked in the intersection.

Difficult Truck Turn
Difficult Truck Turn
Van Dyke St - Richards St - Van Brunt St

Over length trucks are always getting stuck attempting to make this turn. These are illegal 53' trailer trucks that regularly strike parked cars, block crosswalks, and terrorize the neighborhood. There seems to be zero enforcement from the NYPD - they simply help them complete the turn by driving on sidewalks and let them go without a citation.

Maintenance Needed

Van Brunt St - Reed St - Pedestrian And Bike Path Link

There are potholes everywhere at the end from too many oversized and overweight trucks.

Speeding Trucks
Speeding Trucks
Van Brunt St - Pioneer St - King St

There are so many speeding trucks down a street with heavy pedestrian and cyclist traffic. This is the heart of the neighborhood and so many speeding trucks do not belong on Van Brunt.

Limited Curb Access for Trucks
Limited Curb Access
Van Brunt St - Wolcott St - Dikeman St

Trucks are always double parking and blocking the crosswalk. This is a busy crosswalk in front of PS15. Trucks regularly ignore NYPD crossing guards telling them not to unsafely and unlawfully double park and/or block crosswalks.

Frequent gridlock in this location

Narrow Roadway
Narrow Roadway
Columbia St - President St - Union St - Brooklyn

Trucks should use Van Brunt but they often use Columbia, which is a narrow two way street with a bus route. This backs up (already bad) traffic and delays the B61.

Confusing Truck Route Signage
Confusing Truck Route Signage
Ocean Parkway - Church Ave - Beverley Rd

Hundreds of trucks and commercial vehicles are turning from ocean parkway to beverly road south/east bound. There is no enforcement to keep trucks and commercial vehicles off ocean parkway from Church to Beverly. This is a very dangerous intersection where many children and families cross to get to school and to the f train and bus connections at McDonald avenue. Beverly road is already extremely congested. We need better signage but also camera enforcement of commercial vehicle and trucks on Ocean Parkway for our safety.

Joralemon St - Brooklyn Bridge Park Path - Joralemon St

Crazy conflicts between people in trucks, busses, cars and then people on bikes and foot. Most trucks are going into the Marine Terminal I guess, but that area does not feel safe for anyone.

Difficult Truck Turn
Difficult Truck Turn
9 St - 4 Ave - 4 Ave

Trucks turning onto 4th ave from 9th street that approached via 3rd ave have a very hard time making this turn. It results in backups and confusion.
