Thank you for offering this opportunity to provide feedback. We have a really severe truck problem on our block that is NOT meant for trucks. We live on Kingsland Avenue in Greenpoint. All types of trucks cut through this street- speeding, causing congestion, turning into cars since they are attempting to make turns on streets taht are far too tight for their large trucks. Also, with all the pedestrian and cyclist accidents and deaths in our neighborhood, it has gotten out of hand.
Frequent speeding and widely ignored stop sign coming off the expressway - on a block with a busy playground and a short distance from an elementary school and a library. Have observed much conflict here.
Lots of trucks but nothing indicating it’s a route
Multiple trucks every day speeding and avoiding truck routes
Large tractor trailer trucks constantly parking in front of residences taking nearly all parking opportunities, blocking in private vehicles and using block as loading dock.
Trucks always fail to be able to make this turn often blocking the entire intersection and forcing pedestrians into unsafe crossings.
Trucks speeding through sometimes not even obeying traffic lights, terrifying to try to parallel park on this avenue because of the speed of tractor trailers.
Trucks constantly loading and unloading in pedestrian crosswalks which forces pedestrians into the street with oncoming traffic to cross.
Difficult truck turn at light.
Narrow roadway with parked cars on either side. No room for any double parking, and trucks parked are often times in the way of traffic.
