Nevins and Atlantic is the most dangerous intersection on the Atlantic Avenue corridor. I've witnesses multiple collisions based on large trucks turning onto or speeding into the industrial areas of Gowanus on this very narrow street. There is a sign disallowing trucks, but it is not enforced. Left turns from Atlantic onto Nevins must be made illegal for both cars and trucks and we desperately need a speed bump.

gigantic trucks shouldn't be on this street!! They fly over the speed hump and our whole building shakes when they hit the pavement. happens dozens of times a day

Have witnessed countless incidents of trucks illegally traveling north on Kingsland and nearly strike pedestrians and cyclists moving across this intersection. These trucks are trying to beat the yellow light and are so large they're usually halfway into the intersection by the time they're able to stop. These are massive industrial vehicles, and will absolutely kill someone at the speed they're traveling.

Trucks are often exceeding posted speed limit signage and putting pedestrians in danger. The excessive noise, traffic and pollution poses a threat to the many residents of the area. Atlantic Avenue should be better regulated to prioritize pedestrian safety.

This is not a truck route, yet witnessed a speeding semi truck catch several cables suspended over the street and literally pull them out of people's buildings, including our own. The cables sliced several branches off a tree before snapping, caused damage to our building, pulled some of the fiberglass frame off the truck, left a tangle of cables in the street, and left our building without internet for several days. The truck just kept speeding along, didn't even stop.

This whole zone is a death trap for us cyclists. Trucks constantly double park along Morgan ave and block any chance of a safe route for cyclists. We need the projection of a proper cement barrier before anyone else gets killed or injured.

The trucks are too dense, go too fast and have hit bikers and pedestrians. The cement mixer trucks (Gotham Cement) are the worst offenders.

It’s so dangerous! I need to cross this street for work and I usually have to run for my life and it is terrifying.
