Terrible, confusing intersection for drivers and pedestrians. There needs to be bumpouts and/or island that protect pedestrians. Trucks and cars make odd turns that put people in danger.
The NYC Truck Route Network is a system of designated roads that helps commercial vehicles navigate the city efficiently. It aims to:
Connect primary freight origins and destinations.
Maximize access to industrial and commercial zones.
Minimize conflicts with residential areas and vulnerable road users.
This network is crucial for supporting the local economy and livability by:
Organizing neighborhood truck activity
Reducing traffic congestion on non-designated routes
Feedback Guidance:
We want to hear from you, help us identify how and where we can improve the movement of trucks on our city streets.
Options for feedback:
Confusing Truck Route Signage: A Unclear or inaccurate posted truck route signage
Missing Truck Route Signage: A lack of adequate signage to help guide trucks to and along designated truck routes.
Poor network connection: Areas with inadequate truck route network connectivity, often leading truck drivers to deviate from designated truck routes.
Weight & Height Restrictions: Overweight and/ or over-dimensional trucks are often observed.
Limited Curb Access: Trucks observed blocking moving, bike, or bus lanes; or have limited access to curbs for loading and unloading purposes.
Narrow Roadway: Limitations by the physical characteristics of the street, such as narrow roadway
Difficult Truck Turn: Limitations by the physical characteristics of the street, such as sharp turns
Maintenance Needed: Substandard road conditions, such as potholes, uneven surfaces, or lack of maintenance.
Limited Truck Parking: Shortage of designated parking spaces for trucks.
Observed Bicyclist and Truck Conflict: Observed locations where multiple incidents of bicycle and truck conflicts occurred
Observed Pedestrian and Truck Conflict: Observed locations where multiple incidents of pedestrian and truck conflicts occurred
Speeding Truck: Locations where trucks are observed speeding along the street or intersection
Health and Environmental Impact: Locations with air quality, general health, and environmental concerns
Terrible, confusing intersection for drivers and pedestrians. There needs to be bumpouts and/or island that protect pedestrians. Trucks and cars make odd turns that put people in danger.
Cars and trucks constantly pull past the crosswalk and prevent pedestrians from crossing safely.
Way too much truck traffic here! Honking all day
There is to much pedestrian traffic on these corners especially school children crossing for this to be a truck route!!
N.10th is a heavily residential, narrow street that is not an appropriate truck route.
Speeding trucks, and no visibility. The design should force slower driving and careful turns.
Cars and trucks so anxious to get to the highway actually cross into the wrong lane of traffic threatening pedestriand and there is even a citibike terminal here! No crosswalks, no stopsign, and if there was one people would ignore it. I have to walk my kids to school across this street, and its awful for bikers and pedestrians
Trucks parked in front of residences taking valuable parking. Trucks idling at all hours and causing noise at 4 am right in front of homes. Trucks illegally parking so close to curbs and across crosswalks making terrifying situations for bikers and pedestrians because of no visibility. Speeding left turners cause crossing streets to be too treacherous for almost anyone and we have almost been hit and killed, aven with a stroller.
This is a "no truck" route but they are constantly speeding down this road/flying over speed bumps to cut through to Greenpoint Ave.
All types of trucks from the freeway and cutting through and using this residentially street. The noise literally rattles the buildings.
