Many trucks have bad shocks/brakes or engine issues that make them excessively loud. They break noise ordinances when they drive on this road. Also the road is bumpy which makes them even louder. They need to fix their trucks.
The NYC Truck Route Network is a system of designated roads that helps commercial vehicles navigate the city efficiently. It aims to:
Connect primary freight origins and destinations.
Maximize access to industrial and commercial zones.
Minimize conflicts with residential areas and vulnerable road users.
This network is crucial for supporting the local economy and livability by:
Organizing neighborhood truck activity
Reducing traffic congestion on non-designated routes
Feedback Guidance:
We want to hear from you, help us identify how and where we can improve the movement of trucks on our city streets.
Options for feedback:
Confusing Truck Route Signage: A Unclear or inaccurate posted truck route signage
Missing Truck Route Signage: A lack of adequate signage to help guide trucks to and along designated truck routes.
Poor network connection: Areas with inadequate truck route network connectivity, often leading truck drivers to deviate from designated truck routes.
Weight & Height Restrictions: Overweight and/ or over-dimensional trucks are often observed.
Limited Curb Access: Trucks observed blocking moving, bike, or bus lanes; or have limited access to curbs for loading and unloading purposes.
Narrow Roadway: Limitations by the physical characteristics of the street, such as narrow roadway
Difficult Truck Turn: Limitations by the physical characteristics of the street, such as sharp turns
Maintenance Needed: Substandard road conditions, such as potholes, uneven surfaces, or lack of maintenance.
Limited Truck Parking: Shortage of designated parking spaces for trucks.
Observed Bicyclist and Truck Conflict: Observed locations where multiple incidents of bicycle and truck conflicts occurred
Observed Pedestrian and Truck Conflict: Observed locations where multiple incidents of pedestrian and truck conflicts occurred
Speeding Truck: Locations where trucks are observed speeding along the street or intersection
Health and Environmental Impact: Locations with air quality, general health, and environmental concerns

Trucks and large vehicles like yellow school buses speed and cause congestion. Bicyclists have no safe way to cross or drive through this busy intersection.
Super dangerous road. Conflicts with large vehicles and trucks. Needs traffic calming and protected bike crossing to avoid turning vehicles.
Trucks passing by are very loud: a decibel meter at an open 3rd floor window near this location reads 90-100 dB when a truck passes by, which they do starting around 3-4AM. Also, air quality is worsened as a result of trucks getting backed up in traffic, which they do starting around rush hour.
Trucks and large vehicles are dangerous here with school and playground. Traffic calming is needed for children to play and cross safely.
Trucks and vehicles will speed down this extra-wide street with 4 lanes of traffic! We need more safe protected bike lanes in South Brooklyn!
There is no east-west bike lane on in this area; why not 57th St all the way east to west? Trucks and large vehicles will speed down and pass you. Once you reach 7th Ave there is a painted line.
Speeding trucks are a danger to all road users. School children cross here!
Trucks and yellow school buses pollute the air with CO2 and other pollutants. This is a health hazard to children! Do they care???
There is a public and several private schools in the area. The truck and old yellow bus emissions are high in CO2 and other pollutants, and harm young peoples' lungs! Do they care???
