Narrow Roadway
Narrow Roadway
9 St - 3 Ave - 2 Ave - Brooklyn

Since the addition of the protected bike lane this particular stretch of 9th St cannot safely support speeding truck traffic. This particular block is the narrowest point on 9th St and trucks often engage in extremely unsafe behavior to maneuver through

9 St - 3 Ave - Brooklyn

Trucks fly through this complicated intersection especially when making turns. Because they’re coming off the BQE they seem to not realize that there are pedestrians in the area. Have witnessed many truckers (and drivers) speedily make blind turns as the light is turning red and almost take out pedestrians and cyclists in the process. As a resident living on 9th St between 3rd and 2nd Ave crossing the street at 3rd Ave is often an alarming experience

Trucks double and triple park here leading to large daily backups.

Bushwick Ave - Powers St - Grand St

Trucks often turn here during the same light cycle and bikes trying to cross. A leading pedestrian interval, and turn calming would help significantly.

Obvious, dangerous conflict between large trucks and the constant stream of pedestrian/ bike traffic in Greenpoint. At this corner there is the American Playground and a citibike dock. Playgrounds and truck routes do not mix and present a real danger to our neighborhood’s children. Outside of this conflict, trucks are aggressive on Franklin Street and honk/ swerve/ idle.

Trucks frequently block the box, or run red lights, getting off the Manhattan Bridge or going to it. There is a bike lane across here that comes into conflict with these trucks
