cars constantly stop/park here blocking the sidewalk and bike lane. there is no point in reporting them, since if/when police arrive, the vehicle is no longer there
if you are a cyclist, merging with car traffic is so dangerous here. even more so at night.
Grand st is a difficult bike corridor due to constant blockages. Bushwick, Williamsburg, and greenpoint are only growing, as well as bike utilization across the city. In sum it is clear that bike traffic between these areas will only increase. The grand/metropolitan redesign is a huge opportunity to make bike traffic along this corridor safe. It is crucial that the redesign includes protected bike lanes for each direction of travel.

always illegally parked cars on the sidewalk and double parked into the travel lane
constant parking in the crosswalk and intersection
constant, daily parking by trucks in the bike lane.
I ride along Grand Ave from Williamsburg into Maspeth multiple times per week and I have literally never once seen this bike lane free of illegally parked trucks and auto shops claiming the bike lane as a private workshop.
At this point, the bike lane turns left onto Metropolitan, then has a street crossing across Metropolitan to continue onto Grand. But traffic traveling west on Grand and turning onto Metropolitan have no light or yield sign. This is a very unsafe crossing for bikers.
This Bridge should be for bikes only. All trucks and cars should go around to get in and out this area. Will it delay people from getting to work and trucks making deliveries, yes; but it will make the lives of the cyclist better. We should also not allow pedestrians, they can ride a citi bike over the now bike only bridge.
