Blocks with residences need residential loading zones or the ability to briefly double park to unload without blocking full traffic on street. People unloading from cars into residential buildings have nowhere to go right now and are forced to block the bike lane or even go on the sidewalk to unload

Maspeth Ave - Maspeth Ave - Bushwick Ave

This block of Maspeth Ave should be closed and combined with Memorial Gore to create a fantastic new public square.

Devoe St - Judge St - Olive St

Massive shortage of bike parking around this POI. On Devoe specifically, the sidewalks are huge but there are hardly any bike racks. Please add more!

The bike lanes on Grand street are great, in theory. The reality is that cars and trucks are CONSTANTLY blocking the lane, forcing cyclists to swerve into the traffic lane which is dangerous and scary. The fact that they're protected sometimes makes this worse, as cyclists can't just weave in/out as needed. I've had to bike on the sidewalk before because I get stuck behind a truck blocking the bike lane and the flow of car traffic was too high and too fast to safely merge into that lane. These lanes need to be significantly more protected, such that vehicles are unable to park in the bike lanes at all. Further, the plan should consider loading zones because there is clearly a need for trucks to park and make deliveries. The current conditions mean they always block the bike lane, which creates dangerous conditions.

When biking down union and making a left turn onto Borinquen/Grand street you have to either: use the pedestrian crosswalk/signal or take the vehicle lane. Taking the vehicle lane is faster, but feels very dangerous as cars are often traveling fast. Taking the PED crossing is safer, but is inconvenient both to PEDs and to cyclists. This is a busy intersection and sees a ton of foot & bike traffic. Please consider improving the conditions for cyclists & PEDs at this intersection. Specifically, improve the conditions for cyclists making left turns from Union.

The entirety of Metropolitan feels extremely unsafe and chaotic to bike on. I'd love to see a two-way bike line on the entire corridor.

The bike lanes on Grand Street are terrifying because you never know if you're going to have a protected jersey barrier or not and cars and trucks STILL block them which means you sometimes get stuck and have to go out into the traffic to get around. These need to be improved. They're only half done and that helps NOBODY.

Meeker Ave - Metropolitan Ave - North 6 St

It's unclear whether the traffic lights governing turns from Meeker onto Metropolitan Ave also apply to vehicles turning right onto North 6th St, or if those vehicles can make that turn at any time.

Pedestrian
Pedestrian
Meeker Ave - Metropolitan Ave - North 6 St

This intersection is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians. Vehicles turning right from Meeker onto Metropolitan often do not realize pedestrians have the right-of-way to cross Metropolitan and may not stop (or only stop at the last second), while both those vehicles and those crossing the intersection westbound on Metropolitan will flagrantly run red lights at nearly every cycle. I cross at this intersection in all directions multiple times most days, and it's rare that the crossing truly feels safe.

Unsafe Crossing
Unsafe Crossing
Humboldt St - Metropolitan Ave - Maspeth Ave

Ever since a turning arrow was painted at this intersection, many cars act as though it's now two lanes to turn onto Metropolitan and they constantly zoom around cars waiting for pedestrians. It needs to be removed or to be made much more clear that the turn space is for cars turning onto Maspeth, not Metropoltan.
