Bus Stuck in Traffic

Everyone comments on your Facebook post but they don't buy. You wanna know why? It's because they're there to watch cat videos and an algorithm showed them your ad simply because they may have been talking about your services to someone else around their phone or else they read or watched something related. It doesn't mean they're a "targeted" lead by no means. Now I'm messaging you on your contact form now because I know you're a business owner who runs a website that needs more new clients. I mean who doesn't need new clients? Even if you have too many now, don't think they're gonna stay with you forever - especially in today's political climate where large contracts evaporate like water in the desert. I can put your ad in front of other like minded people who own websites just like you! Shoot me a reply now and I'll gladly send over details and pricing. Thanks for reading this and if you're not interested then I am truly sorry to disturb you (but I would still love to show you how this can work for you!) Warm Regards, Phil Stewart

I’m writing to urge the city to implement a much larger bike network throughout Red Hook and the entire Community Board District, prioritizing protected bike lanes, conventional bike lanes, and key safety improvements. The current infrastructure fails to meet the needs of bike commuters, families, and residents who rely on cycling as a primary mode of transportation. Van Brunt Street is a major corridor that requires protected bike lanes, bus boarding islands, and faster transit signal priority. We must prioritize this area for buses, bike riders, and pedestrians to create a safer, more efficient, and more accessible transportation network. Right now, kids can’t safely ride their bikes in this neighborhood. We need infrastructure designed for all ages and abilities, ensuring that young riders, commuters, and older adults alike have a safe, reliable way to navigate the district. A comprehensive bike network isn’t just about cyclists—it improves overall street safety, reduces congestion, and makes transit faster and more reliable for everyone. Investing in these changes will help Red Hook become a more connected, accessible, and livable community for all. Thank you for considering these urgent improvements. Let’s make Red Hook a model for safe, sustainable, and equitable transportation.

There is so much speeding and near misses between pedestrians in cross walks and cars speeding through lights. I've experienced and seen so many near misses. Begging DOT to incorporate traffic calming measures, especially here around the elementary school.

The bike path along Van Brunt feels so dangerous with it also being a truck route.

TRY TO CROSS VAN BRUNDT BETWEEN HAMILTON AND DEGRAW. PLEASE TRY IT. THERE ARE NOT EVEN CROSSWALKS YOU FOOLS. DO SOMETHING. AT LEAST LOOK LIKE YOU ARE MAKING AN EFFORT BECAUSE RIGHT NOW IT LOOKS LIKE YOU JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN., HAPPY KARMA!

Van Brunt St - Bowne St - Seabring St

This area of Van Brunt Street does not have any street lights or stop signs and is a frequent location for speeding trucks and buses, especially at off hours.

Clinton St - Hamilton Ave - Mill St

This is the most utilized route for pedestrian/bicyclists, yet it is extremely dangerous. This route is the main way to get to the F/G Smith 9th St stop, so it must be updated for safety reasons. The crosswalk on the west side of Hamilton Avenue has many blind spots for pedestrians due to the columns under the BQE. Under the BQE, there is always construction and broken guardrails, which makes it dangerous for pedestrians waiting under the BQE to cross Hamilton Avenue in either direction. There needs to be more pedestrian/ bicyclist bridges over the BQE to make it safer (like the one from Nelson St that crosses over to Henry St)

West 9 St - Hamilton Ave - Henry St

Traffic turning onto W 9th street from Hamilton Ave higher than speed limit. The street is curved with side street parking so there are a lot of blind spots for drivers turning onto the road as well.

Hamilton Ave - Court St - Centre St

Please improve pedestrian safety at this intersection! There are a lot of desperate drivers here trying to get onto Hamilton, the BQE, etc., so crossing is always incredibly dangerous. Bike lanes on Court St would be a very improvement too – there is currently no good southbound bike infrastructure into Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens.

Van Brunt St - Hamilton Ave - Brooklyn

The signage at this intersection needs updated. Drivers are unclear on who has the right of way when turning right from Hamilton to van brunt or right onto van brunt from Summit. AdditionallyTesla double parks many cars making visibility and navigation through the intersection problematic.
