thank you for the designated bike lanes here! it is really nice to have a clear lane all the way up to brooklyn bridge park (and down). thank you!!
There are too many industrial freight/cargo/semi-trucks on Van Brunt. this is a tiny street. these trucks should take an alternative route. Van Brunt goes right along PS15 elementary school - these trucks are creating a ton of pollution immediately next to the school's largest playground, creating bad air quality for the children. they often idle along these streets as well.
To the nycdotprojects.info admin, You always provide great information and insights.
Lots of truck traffic here that gets bad when deliveries and cars double park. People park in the bike lane to pickup pizza or laundry from the middle of the block then trucks can't get through and bikes are forced to ride around either the blocked bike lane or the people driving in the bike lane to get around people double parked on the other side.
Cars especially TLC cars and trucks speed through this intersection trying to get to hicks to cut the bqe traffic and regularly use the bike lane as a left turning lane. The bike lane should have bollards at the very least so cars will pay attention and not turn into bikes and pedestrians.
Every weekend during the baseball games everyone doubles parks causing the same problems as near Amazon. There needs to be more parking or a redesign or enforcement for parking.
Amazon drivers double park both sides of the street making this a single lane down the middle which should be a buffer lane. It's one of 2 major bike routes in and out of red hook. It's extremely dangerous to have to bike into head on traffic when everyone there is impatient and speeding towards you or behind you.
Deliveries (especially drivers leaving Amazon to stop for snack) and bodega customers double park here or block the curb cut all day everyday causing traffic backups and dangerous street crossing.
Cars park here blocking the section of the bike that transfers from the raised lane to the street level lane making it nearly impossible to transfer. This should be a protected corner with bollards of some sort to stop parking.
Trucks and delivery vehicles speed down Coffey constantly at way too high speeds especially for cobblestone streets. This should be a no truck street
