We’ve been saying this for years. Every place in Bay Ridge is a good location for Citibikes. Problems as follows: there is a small, but vocal contingent of dinosaurs here who will happily run over their own grandchildren to park their cars. These are people who want to freeze everything from 1977 in amber (except the value of their homes) because change forces them to face their own mortality and reflect on a life wasted sitting in their cars waiting for the street sweeper. We shouldn’t listen to these clowns. They already park on the sidewalk, in the crosswalks and in front of the Johnny pumps. This is a nice neighborhood that deserves the same transportation options available elsewhere in the city.

We went through this exercise few years back and no place in Bayridge is a good location for Citibikes. Problems as follows: already too many bikes, e-bikes, moped, scooter... on the sidewalks; already overcrowded with cars and owners looking for parking spaces. At that corner, we already have bus stops for B16 and express buses crowded into that area, no need for Citibikes. How crowded with cars, buses, and all kind of bikes do you want this nice neighborhood to become?

Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
6 Ave - 79 St - 80 St

Good residential spot near places of interest but doesn’t sit on busy streets with heavy truck traffic.

Not suitable for Citi Bike Station
Location Not Suitable for Citi Bike Station
5 Ave - 77 St - 78 St

Too congested: Bus stop, all commercial storefronts with one having external restaurant dining, relatively narrow sidewalks, disruption to neighborhood serenity and "safe haven" atmosphere.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
Bay Ridge Parkway - 3 Ave - 4 Ave

4th Ave and Bay Ridge Parkway would be an excellent location for a citibike station.
