1 Ave - 56 St - 57 St

Care should be taken placing bike stands on 1st avenue between 51st and 58th streets. There is an active street running railroad and heavy truck traffic. There is truck traffic here especially from DSNY garage and wholesale food suppliers. Bike riders may get their wheels caught in railway flange gap. Either flange gap fillers, or signs warning bicyclists about railway flange gap, along with encouragement of right angle crossings of rail tracks should be placed.

Parking spaces were already taken at this corner for daylighting, would make a good place for a bike stand. Place bike stands both on east and west sides of 4th avenue, so bicyclists don't have to cross the street to make returns.

Good location on the East side of 4th Avenue in front of Saint Andrews Church. There already is a No Parking zone, Would provide good access to B 11 bus at 50th street / 4th ave corner, would also provide access to day care center at corner as well.

Care should be taken at this intersection. This is near a major Engine and Ladder Company. Firefighters often double park on the east side of 4th avenue here, especially during the change of tours. A bike station would be good directly in front of the library at 51st Street, on the West side of 4th avenue only
