Dear NYC DOT Bike Share Team, I’m writing to request consideration for a Citi Bike station closer to 165 West End Avenue on the Upper West Side. I’m a regular Citi Bike rider, and the stations currently available within walking distance of this area are often empty during the morning commute, particularly on weekdays. Because of this, it can take a fairly long walk to reach a station that actually has bikes available, which makes it difficult to rely on the system for commuting. The Lincoln Towers / West End Avenue corridor has a high residential density and strong commuting demand, and I believe an additional station somewhere near West End Ave between 66th and 70th Street (or nearby) would significantly improve access and reliability for riders in the neighborhood. Citi Bike is a fantastic system and I use it frequently, so I hope you’ll consider adding an infill station in this area as the network continues to expand. 8th Avenue has the least Citi Bike stations of any avenue in Park Slope - we need more Citi Bike stations! Also, putting a station here would offer some relief to the Citi Bike station at the Prospect Park entrance at 3rd Street, which has extremely high demand.

8th Avenue in Park Slope does not have any Citi Bike Stations. This means I need to walk up to Prospect Park West or down to 7th Avenue to get a bike, which can add almost 5 minutes to my commute! I would love to have a Citi Bike station closer to my apartment on 8th Avenue and 5th Street.

Thousands more live within ~600 ft of this station than when it was first installed. The station is empty early in the morning rush, and there usually isn't space at night for all the people who want to dock here.

Transportation options are limited for the Waterside community, which has almost 1500 low and middle-income units. The addition of a citibike station in this location would add to transportation options, which are currently limited to one public bus and one private bus line.

This corner would serve 4 constituencies: 1. Waterside Plaza residents (1470 units) 2. UNIS high school students (1430-1450 students over age 16) 3. People looking to use the public Asser Levy Recreation Center 4. Residents in the north units of Peter Cooper Village It may also serve people visibintg the Veteran's Hospial, and people looking to use the north/south East River Greenway to connect to Ferry Landings at 18th or 34th street. The station could be placed either on the East 23rd Service Road, by the Asser Levy Recreation Center on 23rd street, on East River Greenway in the space just north of the Skyport Marina, or at the bottom of the WaterSide Plaza pedestrian landing (in front of UNIS) Capacity should be similar to that of the Citibike station on FDR Drive and 35th street, as traffic volume would justify it.

A Citi Bike station here would be extremely beneficial to everyone in the community, as it's located across the street from a public park. There are many businesses that have grown in the area that would really benefit from having a Citi Bike station. Anywhere on this block would be super helpful, including where I place the pin or across the street by the entrance to the port where there is a lot of sidewalk space.

This location is the side wall to D'agostino supermarket. There are no other businesses or residential buildings here (72-82 West 91st Street). The sidewalk is exceptionally wide, there's a bike lane on this street (CPW-Columbus Avenue) and a Citi Bike Station would be a natural fit here. Would you agree?
