This area needs probably 2-4 docks in a 200 yard radius. There are over 800 apartment units going up here and they need transport to the nearest subway stations.
Add capacity
There are several massive buildings here and that are three avenues from the main A/C line on 8th Ave, a Citi Bike station would be critical at this location. Especially given the one a few blocks away on 27th is always low on capacity and these homes are on bit of an island
We need more docks near McGorlick Park, there are countless times when there arent enough docks / bikes
Need more bikes
I would commute using citi bike if it were available.
More towers are coming (see west street) and there are not enough bikes/docks to fill the void. It is unacceptable the amount of supply shortage in this neighborhood and also LIC (particularly near the Vernon Blvd 7 train!). Fixing this problem would make you all a fortune at the expense of a 2-3 parking spaces. Fix the shortage!!!!
Expansion in this neighborhood is needed desperately! Since I moved to here in 2021, at least 5 towers have opened, several large midrise complexes have opened as well including a brand new one across the street, and more towers are underway. There are only 27 bikes (at capacity, and if none are broken) to serve a population that's grown by thousands in recent years just within a couple blocks! The nearest stations often don't have bikes as either because large buildings have gone up near them as well. With limited transit alternatives, these bikes become a lifeline if you're lucky enough to get one. We are way, way, way under-capacity.
This sidewalk was recently completed as a new building went up here, and has a wide sidewalk where more bikes could be installed.
