Take out the metered parking and put in citibikes
Just north of the stone building of the 191 A train station, on the circle - there is more room for the bikes here, it’s less trafficked than the other parts of the circle.
Very wide sidewalk, close to A train, on the bikeway that heads down to the Hudson River bikepath, and on the approach to Fort Tryon Park.
Perfect spot for those exiting the A train at the 190th St upper level elevator to bike into Fort Tryon park bike lane, plenty of space, no loss of parking spots; in combination with a Citibike station at the Cloisters this would make getting to the Cloisters a snap.
Plenty of room in the area around the Cloisters, would be a perfect spot for people biking from the A train at the upper level of the 190th St. Station, where there should also be a Citibike station by Margaret Corbin Circle.
Seems tempting because it's near the pedestrian bridge to get down to the river but don't be fooled - traffic is a nightmare here with heavy congestion and constant honking at rush hours and maniacal driving at other times by people who have just exited the Cross Bronx Eastbound and are going to the Henry Hudson Parkway Nortbound and who drive on this little stretch as if they were still on the highway. A Citibike station here would be an invitation to a tragedy.
This area is far too congested and confusing to most drivers to add a Citibike station.
Anyone who lives in the neighborhood will tell you the area around Lafayette Plaza would be a terrible place for a Citibike station. The passage on either side of the green space is narrow, the intersection of Haven and 181 is confusing to most drivers, and often times large trucks and buses cause damage attempting to navigating the corner of Riverside and 181.
Ideal location for access to tennis courts, ballfields, Saturday farmer's market on Isham St. and it's a short walk to A train 207th St. station.
J. Hood Wright Park - there is an entrance to the A train 175th St. station and there is a bike path along Fort Washington Ave.
