This is a great location for a citibike station, along a two-way bike lane across Astoria. I would open up biking to the new grocery store and SIngleCut Brewery and other stores in this area. A loss of one parking spot here is a nonissue because the businesses are in a strip mall with a large parking lot.

This is the best street to make a big edge-network citi bike station. Plenty of usually unused parking spaces to take, and the street could even be converted to a parking-protected bike lane scheme. The sidewalks are also wide enough to put more docks there too. This station could accomodate a lot of Astoria and Woodside until the next expansion. It is also suitable for trips to and from the surrounding stores.

This is a residential neighborhood, that does not need more street volume and traffic than we already have. We dont want strange people around here getting on bikes and keeping us up late at night. This is not a suitable location for a Citi bike docking station. This is a residential area with very little car parking. Additionally, there have been quite a few number of traffic accidents involving cyclists who do not respect the rules of the road including stoping at red lights. Due to the already busy intersection with the Q101 bus on 20th Avenue, constant Con Edison road work and existing bike lanes the addition of a Citi bike docking station would only continue to worsen the quality of life issues home owners on 20th avenue already face. I would suggest expanding docking stations in non-residential areas.

A Citibike station at White Plains Road and Allerton Avenue would allow passengers transferring from the subway to complete their journey to NYBG, Fordham, and the Bronx Zoo. There is a protected bike path that begins at Bronx Park East and Allerton and being able to bike rather than wait for a bus or be in car traffic would speed one ability to arrive at any of those destinations on time.

Best location for bikes because it doesn't take parking away, it's not on Ditmars Blvd or 21St street where busses need room and trucks dropping off deliveries will inevitably double park on those major streets. there is a unused triangle beyond the sidewalk under the train that is protected from weather and that would not take up any parking spaces or any sidewalk; the location is starving for some kind of auxilliary transportation since there is no train or bus nearby and there are a lot of office space, light industries, houses of worship, as well as residences that would benefit from a citi dock nearby.

Good Citi Bike Station location

Agreed with others. Citi Bike Stations probably go well with the existing lane of parking spots. Close enough (but not too close to worsen congestion during rush hours) to Subway Stations which will likely encourage subway riders to go "Oh, why do I try Citi Bike?" While these stations are associated with the problem of littering, the hard-working NYPD cars are often cruising the area. As such, people will likely feel safer to use Citi Bikes regardless of hours especially when people have to wait for Buses which do not come often.

This area is NOT ideal for bikes. One side is residential houses, the other side typically has airport workers parking their cars. A station here could start to support Sunnyside citibike riders, which has a growing bike network via Skillman and 43d. This underpass is a tough slice of urban design however, and a new station would benefit greatly from some simple street calming measures to make it more inviting. There is plenty of road space for a protected bike lane, maybe some underpass artwork, better lighting. A new middle school under construction at the adjacent corner will only bring more people walking and biking in this area, so it seems like it could have the double benefit of making a safer intersection as well as improving connectivity. Lets start to make this link between Astoria and Sunnyside more people friendly!

Ralph Demarco Park Greenway - Shore Boulevard - Astoria Park Greenway

This is so close to an under utilized dock at 19th street, it would be a waste. Biking infrastructure needs improvement. Bike lanes by Astoria Pk are often blocked by pedestrians and more bike traffic , if encouraged, needs no -walking signage. “Dual” use path on Shore Blvd north from here is dangerous for both bikes and peds. Vehicles on narrow part if Shore Blvd road need to be seriously reduced for safety. IMO, make it one way and put in proper bikelane lane past RdM park to ConEd.

While this is not my preferred location, this is the closest location to Jackson Heights where there is a large community of cyclists. Vehicular traffic is very bad here! Cars and trucks crosses north-south and east-west (and vice versa). It makes more sense to have a Citi Bike station at 34th Ave under the BQE where there is a bike lane AND next to one of the most popular Open Streets in the city.

Also, for those of us who do not own cars, which is many in Astoria, LGA is where one picks up rental cars and it would be nice to be able to BIKE to pick up and return the rental car as currently it's an extremely long (over 3.1 mile) walk to do so. Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
Broadway - 46 St - 47 St

Basic tenet of good transit planning: make transfers seamless! Every subway station should have a dock, so that people who live far from the subway can get to/from as quickly as possible. Not a block away, RIGHT NEXT TO THE ENTRANCE!! Subway-subway and subway-bus transfers are planned to be as short as possible, subway-CitiBike ones should be too!

The last time I visited CB1 in Queens, I came here and had to ride my own bike, which I rarely do, because there were no convenient Citibike stations.

Hey there, I just found your site, quick question… My name’s Eric, I found nycdotprojects.info after doing a quick search – you showed up near the top of the rankings, so whatever you’re doing for SEO, looks like it’s working well. So here’s my question – what happens AFTER someone lands on your site? Anything? Research tells us at least 70% of the people who find your site, after a quick once-over, they disappear… forever. That means that all the work and effort you put into getting them to show up, goes down the tubes. Why would you want all that good work – and the great site you’ve built – go to waste? Because the odds are they’ll just skip over calling or even grabbing their phone, leaving you high and dry. But here’s a thought… what if you could make it super-simple for someone to raise their hand, say, “okay, let’s talk” without requiring them to even pull their cell phone from their pocket? You can – thanks to revolutionary new software that can literally make that first call happen NOW. Talk With Web Visitor is a software widget that sits on your site, ready and waiting to capture any visitor’s Name, Email address and Phone Number. It lets you know IMMEDIATELY – so that you can talk to that lead while they’re still there at your site. You know, strike when the iron’s hot! CLICK HERE http://www.talkwithwebvisitors.com to try out a Live Demo with Talk With Web Visitor now to see exactly how it works. When targeting leads, you HAVE to act fast – the difference between contacting someone within 5 minutes versus 30 minutes later is huge – like 100 times better! That’s why you should check out our new SMS Text With Lead feature as well… once you’ve captured the phone number of the website visitor, you can automatically kick off a text message (SMS) conversation with them. Imagine how powerful this could be – even if they don’t take you up on your offer immediately, you can stay in touch with them using text messages to make new offers, provide links to great content, and build your credibility. Just this alone could be a game changer to make your website even more effective. Strike when the iron’s hot!
