NYC DOT will implement safety improvements in Queens Community Districts 3 and 4, a designated Priority Bicycle District, and expand the bicycle network coverage to create new neighborhood connections. Compared with New York City, this community district has a disproportionate number of cyclists killed or severely injured relative to the existing bike network coverage. Please see the reverse side of this flyer for a list of locations where we will install standard bicycle lanes and shared lane markings.
- Add new markings to narrow the road to calm traffic and reduce speeding
- Upgrade existing crosswalks to high-visibility crosswalks
- Improve access to transit, jobs, adjacent neighborhoods, Flushing Meadows Corona Park and create new cycling routes to Queens Blvd and other existing bike lanes
