Next to the park seems like an obvious choice. Lots of foot traffic and popular destination in the neighborhood. The nearest citibike option we have is far.
existing docking station at Utica ave may need to be expanded; this is a major intermodal transportation hub with express subway, SBS, and other buses. It is very difficult to dock here at the end of day pre-expansion.
this intersection. Citibikers coming from bed stuy (and crown heights) up to Broadway retail area shouldn’t have to cross dangerous Broadway to find docks. The earlier Bushwick phase placed all docks along Broadway on the North side of the busy street.
The sidewalks on the east side of Bedford are generally wider and better for citibike stations than the west side of the street.
Agree that more citibike stations are needed in this area in general. A better location would be one block south, on Lenox and Bedford (would still be close to grocery store, and on the Bedford bike lane). This particular intersection gets quite bad traffic, and it's also somewhat confusing and potentially risky because from here, Clarkson looks like a one-way street, but it's actually only a one-way street to the west (and a two-way street to the east - lots of left-hand turns from southbound traffic on Bedford)
good location, near retail, hotels major bus and SBS transfer / terminus, also near potential future subway entrance (Kosciusko) if MTA ever reopens it
growing retail / restaurant area, large new hotel. Bike traffic coming up Malcolm X from Bed Stuy could dock here without having to traverse / ride on Broadway which is dangerous for bikers
nw corner macdonough / Malcolm X; adjacent to school, playground nearby, sits in middle of Malcolm X retail strip
NE corner Bainbridge and Patchen; wide street near community garden
Excellent corner for Citbike docking station. Breevort NYCHA complex, Bainbridge Street is unusually wide here, natural parklet area at end of front-in parking provides plenty of room for Citibike station; bikers can safely start/end rides here. High density residential area near schools, parks, community garden, new development.
