The 43 bus is incredibly unreliable. Having bikes along the route would enable many crown heights residents to get north and south fast!
A citi bike station near the subway is a great connection. Plus, it would be naturally connected to the bike path on Eastern Parkway
Plenty of space and very central for many crown heights residents.
A Citi Bike Station by the Prospect Park BQS Station would be so helpful!!
A Citi Bike station at the entrance to Prospect Park on Ocean Ave by Lincoln Rd would be SUCH a great idea!! Would allow people to cross the park East-West with so much more ease!!
Next to a playground. Perfect spot for a station!
Lot of foot traffic/ people. Would be especially helpful for connecting Prospect Park B/Q stop to citi bike infrastructure.
This block of Prospect has an excellent traffic calming solution that should be used more often - a raised stone crossing mid-block - making it a safe place to start a ride. The southwest corner of Prospect and Albany allows the rider to continue west on Prospect or turn south, and balances serving the traditional housing with the NYCHA homes across the avenue nearby.
This is a lovely block with a playground in the center, which could serve as a model for "superblocks" elsewhere (which could also be structured by limiting thru traffic on one-way streets as in Barcelona). If the city is to create more such blocks, it needs a solution for letting bicycles safely through an area where children play, so that the dock can be located on either side - perhaps replacing some of the parking.
The bidirectional bike lanes, intersection with another bidirectional street, and apparent opposition to Stirling make St Johns a stronger candidate for the dock intersecting Buffalo - perhaps the southwest corner.
