Many people in the area use citibikes, however, often the few nearby stations are all empty. This is a quieter residential area with numerous bike lanes already in place.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
Prospect Pl - Kingston Ave - Albany Ave

This block of Prospect has an excellent traffic calming solution that should be used more often - a raised stone crossing mid-block - making it a safe place to start a ride. The southwest corner of Prospect and Albany allows the rider to continue west on Prospect or turn south, and balances serving the traditional housing with the NYCHA homes across the avenue nearby.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
St Marks Ave - Kingston Ave - Albany Ave

This is a lovely block with a playground in the center, which could serve as a model for "superblocks" elsewhere (which could also be structured by limiting thru traffic on one-way streets as in Barcelona). If the city is to create more such blocks, it needs a solution for letting bicycles safely through an area where children play, so that the dock can be located on either side - perhaps replacing some of the parking.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
St Johns Pl - Rochester Ave - Buffalo Ave

The bidirectional bike lanes, intersection with another bidirectional street, and apparent opposition to Stirling make St Johns a stronger candidate for the dock intersecting Buffalo - perhaps the southwest corner.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
Nostrand Ave - Atlantic Ave - Pacific St

Atlantic is in dire need of safety interventions to be safe for cyclists, but one location for a dock would be the southeast corner of Nostrand and Atlantic, on Nostrand in front of the grocery store, since bus lanes are on the west side. It should also have bike lanes replacing the parking, which Nostrand is too busy and too narrow to accommodate.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station

The southeast corner of Prospect Park is a slam dunk. In terms of placement, within the turf I recommend a bulb-out of the sidewalk on Parkside Ave in front of the subway entrance. Another alternative would be across Ocean Ave at the entrance of the park itself.

Fulton and Nostrand needs a dock. The local bus dwells for a long time as people transfer, and the opposite side of the street is often occupied by informal cabs. Unfortunately the "turfing out" of the Citibike expansion limits where I can place the pin, but the southeast corner of Fulton and Nostrand is perhaps as good a location as any. Bus riders exiting the Queens-bound trains could take the western exit, and Citibike riders the eastern.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
Utica Ave - Bergen St - St Marks Ave

A dock at the east side of Utica between St Marks and Bergen would physically deter the officers at this precinct from parking illegally on the sidewalk, which Streetview shows they have done continuously for the past decade. An alleged officer at the precinct attempted to incite a massacre of nonviolent protestors over the precinct radio last year (source: https://www.insider.com/nypd-scanner-broadcasts-calls-to-shoot-and-run-over-protesters-2020-6), which though not strictly germane to dock placement, can be raised in response to any of Precinct 77's objections. If they really are concerned with public safety, they can produce the disciplinary records against that alleged officer.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station

Textbook case of unmet demand. Packed buses, dollar vans, and informal cab dispatchers everywhere. 4 trains coming into Franklin are already half full. Utica doesn't just need Citibike, it needs a subway and a crosstown light rail for good measure. I've dropped the pin on the mirror to the Franklin dock. Make it as big as you can get away with.

Good Citi Bike Station location

Potential alternative to St Johns and Brooklyn if local opposition proves too strong. Others have proposed mid-block on St. Johns which could also work.

Good Citi Bike Station location

Others are suggesting St. John's, but I feel Lincoln is stronger. There is a major bus stop (both SBS and local, nominally called St. John's but really closer to Lincoln) and it could act as capacity relief for the subway station a block south.

This one is a slam dunk. One additional point: please adjust the light cycle here to make it safe for pedestrians and the new cyclists. It takes so long for pedestrians exiting the station to cross that everyone drifts into the central roadway, and cars drive dangerously fast through. It's not safe, and adding a Citibike station is the best opportunity to fix the problem.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station
Eastern Parkway - Bedford Ave - Rogers Ave

Of course Nostrand serving the EPK 3 station is a strong candidate but I recommend considering Bedford and Eastern Parkway as well, and expanding bicycle infrastructure on EPK. The one trail on the south mall is not sufficient. People constantly confuse which side is for cycling and which is for walking, and Eastern Parkway's intersections do not feel safe to cross. The service roads should have bike lanes, or sharrows at minimum; or if the parking capacity is deemed essential, protected lanes and traffic calming in the central parkway itself.

Brower Park is a must. Here are two suggestions for where: the northwest corner near the Children's Museum (Prospect and Brooklyn) and the southeast corner near Chisolm Circle (Park and Kingston). I anticipate you'll need a lot of capacity.

Good Citi Bike Station location

Potential alternative location to near the church on Dean in case of local opposition. Roughly equidistant between two subway stations, same block as a local southbound bus stop, and just behind an outdoor dining bulb-out (but in front of two businesses that are not restaurants). However, Nostrand needs interventions to make cycling safer - between buses, parking, loading, and being a major southbound road, it does not feel safe. Additionally, the buses underperform because the northbound local and SBS are on opposite long blocks. A rationalization of the bus network would add a northbound bus lane. Something has got to give, and that something has to be parking.

Good Citi Bike Station location
Good Location for a Citi Bike Station

May be too close to the existing on Bergen, however this is a blank front on a wide street close to Bedford and its bike lanes. Additionally recommend that those bike lanes be upgraded to protected bike lanes, as Bedford is wide enough that cars drive fast.

Place the citibike rack either across the street of the park entrance or on the park side of the park entrance. it's a popular entry point and a citibike here would be very useful. Especially if combined with a bike rack on Ocean/Parkside Ave. Would create vertical network to drive between racks up the park. Beware that the building side of the street (across from the park entrance) is very busy with busses, pedestrians, and others, so have to think through how to avoid unsafe rider conditions.

I've chosen Nostrand & Eastern Parkway as an example, but you should place Citibike locations in front of *every* subway station entrance. It's the best way to make them useful for people who commute! Not just in Brooklyn, either - in every borough!

Citibike rack at entrance of park. Could be placed either on park side or across the st on building side. The building side has 3 squares of side walk so should be able to put a bike rack and retain 2 squares for pedestrians to pass. If you place on the park side, that could be convenient and safer for cyclists since they won't have to cross the st to get into the park. However, the park side sidewalks are very poorly maintained, making it less than ideal to ride your citibike on. Either way, a citibike rack on this spot would be ideal.

Citibike station should be in proximity to this Q stop. Near park entrance and station. However, cyclists would have to use pedestrian crossings to cross the st to get to the park which isn't ideal for safety purposes since intersection is very busy. The bikes should ideally be put across the st at the entrance of the park. Those who want to use the citibikes will cross the st per usual and take off with the bikes down parkside ave or through the park or wherever. Similarly, those riding bikes can dock at the station in the park entrance, cross the st to catch a train.

Agree that more citibike stations are needed in this area in general. A better location would be one block south, on Lenox and Bedford (would still be close to grocery store, and on the Bedford bike lane). This particular intersection gets quite bad traffic, and it's also somewhat confusing and potentially risky because from here, Clarkson looks like a one-way street, but it's actually only a one-way street to the west (and a two-way street to the east - lots of left-hand turns from southbound traffic on Bedford)

Put a dock here so we can get to Kings County Nursery. Far enough away not to impact their operations, but close enough for all plant dads to get there.

I love this plant store so much and as much as I would love to have a Citi Bike dock there, they have a lot of loading needs - moving pallets, picking up orders, landscaping, etc. I wouldn't recommend putting a station on this block, but I WOULD recommend putting one a block away so I can get there more easily.

This corner has a huuuuge sidewalk setback that could be great for docks and not take away any parking.

At Manhattan & Bronx-bound (2)(5) train platform is essential - will serve riders commuting to work in Manhattan in the mornings and commuting back from working at hospitals in the evenings. This section of Nostrand has more occupied retail than some of the sections further north.

Absolutely essential location for a massive CitiBike dock, located at a prominent subway station for the B, Q, and Franklin Ave Shuttle. Located just a few dozen feet from it's namesake signature park, Prospect Park, where it connects up to an incredible bike path. Several bus lines terminate here as well. Connections via bike can be make from the (B)(Q) to the (2)(5) nearby on Nostrand Avenue. This is already a vibrant hub with restaurants too. The docks should be located to the east of the subway station to better reach the residential communities nearby, including on Flatbush Avenue.

Great location for CitiBike alongside a Select Bus Service and local bus route. In between a couple of particularly dense blocks of housing along Hawthorne Street, denser than other blocks of PLG. Near a church and daycare. Retail and restaurants are nearby.

Have ridden bike past this point often to park at the nearest citibike stations and seems a great spot to have a rack. Lots bike lanes work well here and would be nice not have to bike uphill to the other stations.

Truxton St - Truxton St - Mother Gaston Boulevard

This little triangle of land at the end of Mother Gaston would be a great place for a Citibike dock. From that spot, it's easy to go down Fulton in either direction, or one can ride up Mother Gaston toward Bed-Stuy or Bushwick. And by placing the dock on that island, the riders would be protected from traffic while docking and undocking.
